ADLER'S APPETITE To Embark On First Full U.S. Tour
- Jan. 9, 2009
|
|
ADLER'S APPETITE, the band led by Steven Adler, legendary drummer of GUNS N ROSES and star of the hit VH1 series "Celebrity Rehab", will embark on a full U.S. tour first time ever this spring. The group will perform the iconic GN'R album "Appetite For Destruction" in its entirety along with other classics and some surprises. The trek is scheduled to kick off late February and run through early April. ADLER'S APPETITE's current lineup is rounded out by singer Sheldon Tarsha, Alex Grossi ( HOOKERS 'N' BLOW, ex- QUIET RIOT) on guitar, Michael Thomas ( FASTER PUSSYCAT) on guitar, and Chip Z'nuff ( ENUFF Z'NUFF) on bass. ADLER'S APPETITE commemorated the 20th anniversary of GNR's classic debut "Appetite for Destruction" in 2007 by touring South America. However, Adler was forced to cancel a European tour with the band due to "personal issues." A court commissioner in Los Angeles agreed last month to place Adler in a state-sanctioned drug rehabilitation program and keep the drummer out of prison. Adler's court appearance came a day after TV audiences watched him graduate from a drug-treatment program that is the focus of VH1's show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew". Adler was arrested in Los Angeles on July 18, 2008 after someone called police to report he was causing a disturbance. The other members of GUNS N' ROSES band threw Adler out in 1989, saying his drug use was harming his performance. In 1993, the band agreed to pay him $2.3 million to settle Adler's lawsuit claiming a 1990 agreement by which he gave up his interest in the band was read to him and signed without his attorney present.

I'm sure this will sell out.
For god sakes, how long have they been around and they've never done a full tour? Steve is hoping for a reunion, but the saddest part is it'll probably be with sorum.

Here's how the story will go...Sheldon Tarsha will get fired 3 weeks before the tour starts, Adler will comment that the tour is still a go and that they replaced Tarsha with Paul DiAnno. Paul will cancel 1 week before the tour starts citing visa problems into the US forbid him from coming here. Then Steve will have no choice but to cancel the tour...then Blabbermouth will run a headline showing Ex-Adlers Appetite singer Paul DiAnno schedules South American dates...hey this is all just a hunch but you never know it could unflod like this.

or so i hope, then i can see it before the tour goes in the toilet. i don't see this thing going 8 weeks. like riotact, i hope it goes well, i'd like nothing more than steven to finally have a successful tour, but track records like his can be tough to break. wish you the best, steve, and keep striving for a drug free life!!

He can't just stop. He needs to get out of the rock scene to get sober. It's like putting a wolf in the henhouse and expecting nothing. The slaughter is on. We all know what happens when you mix nitro and glycerine...

if he were really committed to getting healthy, he'd have dropped out of sight for a year or two, but the tv reality-hab thing shows that celebrity and fame is more important to him.
doing the album with his cover band is the closest he will ever get to a reunion.. he will crash hard.

I wish the haters would shut the hell up, he's certainly well aware of his past and his own issues.
Let the man make/play his music and live his life.

but, Adler actually made Appetite sound great with his drum style. If Sorum had played on it, it would have sounded like other 80s record. There is huge differences with the drums on all post Appetite records. Now they have Frank, who is very similar in Adler style.
Guess Axl finally figured that out.

Steven should get together with Ozzy and start an anti drug campaign! Those commercials would be amazing and let's face it kids would listen to them and everyone else would need a translator to understand their commercial but that would make Adler more popular than ever!

Nothing like telling everyone your going to "The group will perform the iconic GN'R album "Appetite For Destruction" in its entirety" to gather a "BUZZ" ... No pun intended!!
If he is sober and the band sounds good, which I'll bet they do with the guys in it, I would like to see Appetite done from beginning to end.
I don't see the REAL GnR getting back together anytime soon!

Steven IS NOT aware of his problems and issues. Perhaps on a surface level. As a recovering addict myself, you can know what your problem is all you want, but that's just step one, asshole.
