OVERKILL: Mexican Shows Cancelled - Jan. 11, 2009
Veteran New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL have cancelled their previously announced shows in Mexico "due to unforeseen circumstances."

The affected dates are as follows:

Jan. 23 - Monterrey, MEX - Rock Amerika
Jan. 24 - Mexico City, MEX - Circo Volador

OVERKILL's second DVD, "Live at Wacken Open Air 2007", came out in February 2008 via Bodog Music. The 50-minute disc was shot during the band's headline set at the festival in front of an audience of 40,000, and features songs that span OVERKILL's 28-year career, including "Walk Through Fire" (which can be viewed below) from the group's new disc "Immortalis", "Rotten to the Core", "Elimination", "Fuck You", "In Union We Stand", "Necroshine", "Skull and Bones", "Old School" and "Wrecking Crew".

These guys do it 100% for the money, DD Verni hates touring. Best songs were in the 80s

What an awesome band up with the likes of Slayer. I saw them open for Slayer back in 06 and a few times after. They never dissapoint.

They are the N.Y. kings of thrash and one of the legendary bands of the genre that have stuck to their guns. A fan forever, got all of their albums.

My friend and I interviewed Blitz in the basement of L'amour Brooklyn back in the 80's. He was a great interview and the nicest person you can imagine.

I will also never forget seeing Overkill at the Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ. They had just started as a band and there were maybe 100 people there, and Overkill just blew away the other bands they were on the bill with. There was a metal gate that the front row tore down just to get stageside. Let me tell you, that 80's metal movement...there was nothing like it.
