WHITE LION's TROY PATRICK FARRELL To Sign With POISON's ROCKETT At NAMM - Jan. 12, 2009
WHITE LION drummer Troy Patrick Farrell has issued the following update:

"Just got back from touring 33 countries and played shows between 42 and 42,000. We [WHITE LION] hit Indiana to India supporting [the band's latest album] 'Return of the Pride'.

"I hope to see some of you travel to NAMM, and if you're there, I'll be at Rockett Drum Works ([the company launched by] Rikki Rockett of POISON) booth 2253 to sign with Rikki Rockett and talk shop about the Rebel kit [see image below] I've been touring with since 2007 at 3:00 p.m. every day. I'll also be at Sabian and Vater Percussion at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. the 16th and 17th, respectively."

This year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show is being held January 15-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

Important: The NAMM show is **NOT** open to the public. The only attendees are NAMM member companies and their invited guests.

WHITE LION released a 60-minute live DVD from its Bang Your Head!!! appearance in 2005, also featuring interview footage along with other bonus material. Entitled "Bang Your Head Festival 2005", the disc was made available in Europe on December 5, 2008 via Frontiers Records.

Frontiers Records released the comeback studio album from WHITE LION, entitled "Return of the Pride", in March 2008. According to a press release, "all the trademarks of the WHITE LION classic sound can be found again in the new album which offers a musical variety that covers the entire musical spectrum the band is well know for. 'Return of the Pride' kicks off with 'Sangre de Cristo', a thunderous epic that ventures into lyrical and musical territories best heard, than described. 'Battle at Little Big Horn' is the album's other soaring epic, a musical re-enactment of one of Native America's most significant historical events: Custer's Last Stand. Hook-laden rockers such as 'Dream', 'Live Your Life' and 'Finally See The Light' maintain a positive musical and lyrical vibe throughout the album, whereas 'Gonna Do It My Way' and 'Let Me Be Me' are the modern-day 'Living On The Edge' songs of rebellion." The CD was produced by singer Mike Tramp and bassist Claus Langeskov and recorded during 2007 in both Australia and Copenhagen, Denmark, in between touring commitments.

Hard Rock Hideout has posted video footage (see below) and a review of WHITE LION's November 9, 2008 concert in Louisville, Kentucky.

um, yeah. i'm thinking maybe that part should have been left out. not that i'd be running out to get it otherwise or anything. it's just that much worse knowing it's going to suck as much as everything else they've put out.

I've seen TPF numerous times w/ WL & Dizzy Reed from G'n'R. This cat is a heavy hitter who gets better every time I see him. Hope to see him @ NAMM. I will let him know all the nice things you people who have never played a gig or sold a CD have had to say about WL over the last year!!!

willing to bet that even if i had ever played a gig, or sold a cd, these guys would still suck. i don't doubt troy's abilities as a drummer, but the band as a whole blows goats.

I honestly like these guys, they make bloody good music and they don't have any illusions that they are re-inventing the wheel or anything. Return of the Pride is a better comeback than Chinese Democracy and White Lion fans can be happy that the band is back.

If White Lion did not grow hair to their asses and wear womens jeans, most of you haters would have agreed they produce good music. Just like all your scumbag metal bands look like goth morons that sit alone in HS cafeterias, the bands from the 80s had long hair and tights. What's the big deal?

Well it's been a few years since I've seen Tramps' White Lion but when I saw them w/ TPF,Kenny Korade(g) & Jerry Best(b), they were great. Saw them 3 or 4 times & they were great every time.

My hair was just as long as the longest strand to be found on a head on any member in that band during that particular time frame.
Right about now my hair is about half way down my back.
It's a little treat that I've willed upon myself (going from 10 years of going between half-back to waist then the next 10 years pretty much buzzed off - and now one last [maybe] wing-ding where I will grow it out -{before the gray takes over}- regardless of what my Ol' Lady, friends and or family think of it.)

Their hair length and fashion sense has nothing to do with the derogatory comments laid upon them - it's their shit tunes that seal their fate.

while i've never worn women's jeans (or underwear in case anyone's wondering) , i have literally done the hair down to my ass thing. it's the music i hate. they rock about as much as hanson did.

I only suffered through seeing this band of ass jockeys once. They opened for Ace Frehley and were boo'ed off the stage. It was really sad. All I remember is that every time Mike Tramp tried to get the crowd to sing along everyone gave him the finger and chanted "you suck".

Not afraid to admit it one bit... I've been following this band and mike tramp since 1984, and their style of music just fits to the style that I like.. All you White Lion haters posting shitty comments about Mike Tramp, or White Lion, it's your opinion and your entitled, but give credit where credit is do. At least Mike Tramp has sold MILLIONS of records, and has TOURED with some of the biggest bands in the world. And if you ever met Mike Tramp he is great to his Fans, and appreciates all the support ... One more thing to all you White Lion/Mike Tramp haters... Let me know when/if your making music, that any of your music makes it to the top 10 on Billboard..
