LACUNA COIL, CHIMAIRA Added To DISTURBED's 'Music As A Weapon IV' Tour - Jan. 14, 2009
LACUNA COIL and CHIMAIRA have been confirmed for DISTURBED's Music As A Weapon IV tour, which is expected to kick off sometime in March. The billing for the trek is as follows:

DISTURBED
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
LACUNA COIL
CHIMAIRA

A poster for the tour can be found below.

In addition to the main-stage acts, there will be a tattoo and music festival as well. Some of the world's best tattoo artists will be traveling with the tour, including Oliver Peck and Hart & Huntington. They will be joined by some of the top local tattoo artists in each market. Everyone attending the show will have the opportunity to schedule an appointment in advance with the tattoo artist of their choice and get some new ink at the shows. Tattooing will happen as local ordinances allow. There will also be an extreme sports exhibition including freestyle and half pipe from top action sports stars, a second stage with additional bands performing, a vendor village and much more.

The tour's official web site, www.musicasaweapon4.com, will launch on January 27.

DISTURBED will be the featured musical guests on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on the Wednesday, January 28 episode (which will actually air the morning of January 29 beginning at 12:05 a.m.).

DISTURBED scored its second No. 1 single on the BDS/Billboard Active Rock chart last year with the title track from its current album, the nearly platinum "Indestructible".

The CD's lead-off single, "Inside the Fire", set a record for the longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Active Rock chart when it spent 16 weeks in the top slot. DISTURBED is also riding high with its first-ever Grammy Award nomination in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category for "Inside the Fire".

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE is currently working on its as-yet untitled fourth album for Roadrunner Records. The CD will follow 2006's "As Daylight Dies", which is approaching gold status in the United States (signifying 500,000 copies shipped).

For the first time in its career, the band is working with an outside producer — Brendan O'Brien, who has previously helmed recordings for AC/DC, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PEARL JAM and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, to name a few. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, a noted producer in his own right who has recorded all of the band's previous albums, is taking a co-producer role on this record alongside O'Brien.

Chimaira & Lacuna Coil should tour together, i'd see them with some openers. Have no interest in seeing Disturbed or KSE again though.

Anyone know what happened to Five Finger Death Punch and 36 Crazyfists?

I was really looking forward to them being on this tour.

I can understand why they'd grab Lacuna Coil for the tour, but not so much for Chimaira. Definitely awesome for them, though.

Disturbed completely blew away me expectations when I saw them back in the summer. And this would mark the... I think 4th time I'll be seeing Chimaira (one of my faves now) and the first REAL time I'll be seeing LC. Last time I tried to see them (a few years ago) I was still in line waiting to get into the Ozzfest concert grounds in San Antonio when LC finished their set and went off the stage.

I'm not big on Killswitch, but 3 out of 4 ain't bad and I'm really not too familiar with them anyway. A friend told me I'd like their newer stuff, so all in all I really can't go wrong with this.

Helps take the edge off of the fact that shitty selection of cities has kept me from being able to see Iced Earth since '04 - their newest tour only played one date in Texas, in Forth Worth, in the middle of the week. Fucking seriously? No way I could've made it coming from Austin.

It'd be great if Biohazard's Reunion Tour came by again and actually played near me, but I'd be the only person I know who'd be interested in going.

this tour would be great minus disturbed and coil. i saw lacuna coil a while back and they were about as exciting to see live as it is to let your wife punch you in the cock for a few hours straight. Chimaira is a much better live act, and I'd be way more interested in seeing them play a longer set. Then again, I wouldn't go to a disturbed show if they paid me to go. I saw them back before 'The Sickness' came out and wasn't impressed. Saw them on the second stage of Ozzfest after that album came out and was even less impressed.

There will be plenty of guys in black women's jeans that are too tight for them at this show though!

Give Coil their due. Halflife, Unleashed, and Comalies are great, great CDs. Their recent, more nu-stuff would be awful even if that sort of thing were still in style. It doesn't help that their setlists since Karmacode came out have only included about two or three songs from the back-catalog. So you COULD say LC suck, but they're pretty new to suckage.

I enjoy KSE, but I never understood what the big deal was about Chimaira. I've seen them about four or five times, and they're always bored me.

I really dont understand all these people who are mad about chimaira when they are the best band playing there? And for the guy who says they were boring, you must have had your head up your ass for the show cause ive seen chimaira KS and coil. and coil and KS are the definition of boring compared to chimaira.Just cause its not on the radio i suppose...
