Now THAT should be a great show!! Although,I did see Purple back in late 2007,and the lack of Ritchie Blackmore was just blaring obvious in the band's sound. Maybe Yngwie could pull double duty on those gigs,eh? Just sayin..

He gets to play Ritchie Blackmore for a few nights.

He's played with Deep Purple members in the past. It's on youtube...

This should be fun to see and I wonder if Morse minds his presence

What a pairing! Both bands are my heroes, but the only problem I have with Steve Morse is that he has little to none stage show charisma, he just plays damn good. I'm not heralding for him to necessarily run around the stage all the time or constantly throwing his guitar around his torso or jumping from amp top to amp top along the show...it's just that he plays the guitar damn well - and that's of course the most important thing - and nothing more. Steve is nothing like Ritchie Blackmore or Yngwie Malmsteen, nothing like Tony Iommi or Blackie Lawless. But then again, with Steve Morse, Deep Purple has enjoyed a completely new, satisfying and well-going era of pleasing shows and strong new music since 1994 so there's really nothing to complain.

Seen both bands live twice thus far, the next Deep Purple show is scheduled for July 18th.
