SCOTT WEILAND Launches Clothing Line - Jan. 21, 2009
Scott Weiland, legendary lead singer of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, and Christopher Wicks, designer and owner Rock & Roll Religion, have announced the launch of their much anticipated contemporary men's collection — Weiland for English Laundry. This inaugural collection will debut at Magic Las Vegas on February 17, 2009.

Christopher Wicks, designer and owner of English Laundry, Fender: The Clothing Collection, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience, has teamed with Scott Weiland to create a collection that embodies the iconic style of the fashionable STP front man.

"From early on, I was inspired by rock icons like David Bowie and Keith Richards who helped in molding my personal sense of style," said Weiland. "I am really looking forward to launching this line with Christopher Wicks and English Laundry."

"I have the utmost respect for Scott Weiland, both as an artist and as a designer," said Wicks. "He is truly one of the last great rock stars, and his impact on style and music is undeniable. I am proud to be joining forces with him for this collaboration."

Weiland for English Laundry is a lifestyle brand for the true rock rebel. The overall concept is derived from the rock decadence of the 1960's, and inspirations were taken from Savile Row circa 1965 and renowned bands such as THE KINKS, THE BEATLES, and THE ROLLING STONES. Eclectic combinations of fabrics, patterns and color have been reformulated to replicate the rich rock culture that defined that era.

The collection boasts a variety of wovens, vests, t-shirts, pants, hats, ties and scarves. All fabrics are based on original vintage patterns circa 1965 through 1979 and have been reproduced for modern-day wear. Pants have a tailored narrow fit with flat fronts, and wovens feature bold chalk stripes, Prince of Wales plaids and tonic two-tone solids.

Retail price points range from $40 to $120 with a targeted distribution to better department and specialty stores. Weiland for English Laundry has successfully combined English Laundry's famous craftsmanship with Scott Weiland's infamous flare.

Weiland for English Laundry can be found at the English Laundry flagship store (7519 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, California) and at www.globalrebels.com in February of 2009.

Give me a break- guys like Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, and Mick Jagger qualify as "legendary," not Weiland.

I honestly don't even know why we're still hearing about this guy in 2009- he should be permanently shipped back to 1993 like the Spin Doctors.

...of Weiland but I give him props for recognizing The Kinks. Dave Davies is the father of heavy metal and Ray Davies is one of the greatest song writers of all time.

Check out what Dave was playing on guitar compared to these other guys in the 60's if you don't believe me. What? You don't believe me? F-Off.......why don't you believe me...I've never lied to you before.

Scott Weiland, "legendary" lead singer of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS

The only thing he's legendary at is pretending to be a junkie.

he's not folks. Never was. It was all a part of getting his name in the press.

he's getting divorced from his wife (if he hasn't done so by now). Given the fact that she likes to set his clothes on fire, she'd probably destroy the whole fucking factory!

vow swome people are stupid here, yea he was prete4nding to be junkie hahaha. and maybe hes not as legendary as plant and jagger, but if we just take the new singers of the last 20 years then he's legendary and very much so, along with Sebastian Bach, Axl Rose, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Layne Staley and some others.
and whats the big deal he starts a clothing line??? clothes and very different clothes from whats supposed to be normal has been a big factor of metal and rock from the beginning so theres realy nothing strange about rockstars having their clothing lines.

and why is like Weiland is the only drug user in history???? i cant remember better then most of the great artist musicians or other have been either drunks or junkies or both

I agree with most of what you are saying, I do think he was great, the last STP Cd very underrated, he pushed the envelope some & wasn't run of the mill. While he's not the first addict rocker, as a fan(or a band member) it gets frustrating watching him piss away his last few prime years. He burns all his bridges, VR/STP, and his solo stuff seems to be a notch below, though I've only heard 3 or so songs. His excuse & rationalizations are tiring & that of a junkie. ITs always everyone elses fault. Like Axl(not a junkie, but other head issues).
