Bridie Mayfield, they are a perfect match.
"I've been a heavy metal fan for a long time. I've always danced to metal," she says.
This week Mayfield's new Brisbane, Australia-based company,
Brutal Ballet, performs
Dethballet at Twelfth Night Theatre, which combines the two.
"When I tell people who like ballet (about the work) they kind of look at me in a funny way," she says. "But metal fans seem to love it. I think they understand the connection with classical music."
