recapture the magic of "As The Palaces Burn". "Wrath" is kindda weak, it has it's moments, but never quite gets there. Listened to it a few times today all the way thru... Well it just hasn't grown on me. It doesn't kick you in the ass or anything. Falls short of all the hype the band has put into it thus far. Oh well. Just disappointing.

I somewhat agree with you on that. but broken hands, fake messiah, and set to fail are some damn good songs. the finale is epic as well.
I agree that they cant get back to palaces, but at least they arent evolving the way bands like slipknot have.
This record certainly wont be a dissappiontment and MANY awards will be going to Chris Adler. The drumming on this is fucking insane

ok just kidding, haven't heard it all the way through. sounds promising, but from what I've heard, it'll be hard to top ashes.

...In face, I was expecting alot more, they didn't DELIVER. They had almost a year off I kinda expected something really good. You guys are right how they kinda go back to Palaces, but it doesnt deliver like I said. Listenable, but now I just have to wait for God Forbid, Chimaira, KsE.

Obviously better than anything I could ever do. However, I think they phoned this one in. They should have taken more time with this. Machine was a better producer too. Least favorite of the bunch. Those are my 2 cents.

Downloaded the album today.

I wanted to love this album.

Not up to LOG standards - it's just more of the same, but not as good.

Love the new album, it's still growing on me. Fucking cool drumming, some sick riffs and Randy's mixing it up a bit more with his vocal style. Broken Hands is my fav. track :)

Ok, so I got my hands on this album.
To say it's disappointing is kinda misleading people off an album that is actually good, but not amazing. It's not a BAD album. Bad albums disappoint me. The only 'disappointing' part is the fact that it's not their best. But that's also a matter of opinion. I would recommend this CD to anyone, it's still a good CD. I'd say, 7-8 out of ten. It's good! Just not their best.

Standout tracks in my opinion:
- Broken Hands
- Set to Fail
- In Your Words
- Reclamation

Get it if you like their other stuff. It's more of the same. And it's good, not their best, but good!

Big LoG fan here, but I do think Wrath is their weakest album. Still an awesome album, but nowhere near Ashes, Palaces or even Sacrament. Sacrament had some weak songs, but Walk With Me In Hell sealed that album. Wrath has no one killer instant favorite for me. Favs are Broken Hands, Dead Seeds and Grace.

Im actually really surprised at how many people think it sounds "weak." I think the copy everyones heard is kinda shitty quality to begin with, but damn. I dont think LoG has it in them to be "weak." If youre a fan of lamb of god youre gonna love this album, no one and i mean NO ONE does metal like these guys do. Its pure, simple, american, metal. Cant ask for much more than that.

By weak I mean, compared to their other albums, not weak in general to other metal music. Don't get me wrong, this album will be on constant rotation for at least a year or more for me. I just don't think this album has as many memorable riffs, vocal hooks or technical solos as their other albums. Maybe it will grow on me, but just not instantly blown away like Palaces and Ashes...

The Vocals and Drums are awesome.

The riffs are a bit derivative of pantera (I heard a bit of blackened in one song too), but good.

The only thing missing is decent guitar solos, Morton can rip, I don't know why they don't feature him more.

Over all decent Groove Metal to try to fill the Pantera Void without the Dimebag Solos.

have to agree with a lot of people who posted above me in regards to standing up to 'As the Palaces Burn' or 'New American Gospel.' I will say that this is a superior album to 'Sacrament,' however. I'd say this takes elements of 'Ashes of the Wake' and the best aspects of growth from 'Sacrament' and mixes them all together. This is still a polished product, but the riffs are solid and some of them show some real song writing maturity. At least these guys aren't just putting out the same album every time, ya know? But hey, just my two cents. I think if you're looking for an album like Palaces than you're going to be disappointed, but if you're just looking for a decent LOG album you'll be happy. It won't stick in the cd player as long as I'd hoped, but I'm by no means let down.

They should incorporate more talent like the intro of grace into the songs. That intro is killer, kind of reminds me of pulsation by sinergy. that would make the songs alot more listenable. Choke sermon is a def kick ass song, gots some new unearth sound to it.

if you decide that a band has "sold out" and you choose not to purchase said bands CD because you think that they "sold out", then you are the one missing out. shutting your self off from life's experiences is never a good thing.

Let me clear some shit up. For one, i'm sorry if I started this board discussion off to a negative start. I am a LOG fan, I own all of their albums and have seen them at least a dozen times. I do support LOG! I don't hate them, they are really great guys. I was really looking forward to this album and I did have high expectations for it after a the hype the band had created for it by saying it didn't need any hype!

After I listened to it, I just wasn't blown away. Not like previous efforts like the insanly great "Palaces". Even "Ashes" kicked my ass. "Sacrament" not so much because it had tracks that I didn't like at all... e.g. "Redneck". But "Sacrament" had some winners too. Regardless, I went into this new record with open ears and a desire to really want to love it. That just didn't happen. It fell short of my expectations. I have already listened to it several more times all the way thru with hopes that it will grow on me with multiple listens. It just isn't happening for me. Sorry, that's my opinion. Don't like it? Make your own opinion!

In the album's defense, I will say that the song "Grace" is my favorite of them all. It's just that out of eleven tracks, and I only like one song... I call that disappointing. I'll probably buy the album anyways just to show LOG the support, plus Ken Adams did another killer job with the artwork. I would like to see the rest of the layout and packaging cause I'm in to that kind of shit.

I hope this album does well for LOG, it just doesn't do it for me is all I'm saying.

The record's pretty good, they weren't trying to top sacrament, some pussy hypocrites are dissapointed oh well... go cry for yourself and give the band their credit. It does sound like some of their previous albums, not as good as sacrament but same lamb of god, aren't we here for the band? Some of you guys need to stop acting like fucking spoiled reviewers and respect the damn music
