DISTURBED All Fired Up About GRAMMY Nomination - Feb. 5, 2009
The Pulse of Radio reports: DISTURBED has already had a tremendous year with its third straight No. 1 album, "Indestructible", three Top 10 rock radio hits, and continued success on the road. But the band notched another highlight with its first Grammy nomination, as the song "Inside The Fire" got the nod for best hard rock performance. Singer David Draiman told The Pulse of Radio he's thrilled to be in the running. "I'm very, very happy about it and keeping my fingers crossed, and any other appendages I may be able to cross," he said. "We hopefully have a chance at winning this thing. We will be on the road but we are making time specifically to be able to attend the awards."

Although many of the rock winners are announced earlier in the evening and not shown on television, Draiman added that he's still looking forward to attending his first Grammy Awards ceremony. "I'd like to at least experience it once, to say that I was bored out of my mind," he joked. "I'm sure that there's going to be much of it which is a little bit of a yawn, but I'd really like to just take in the experience."

DISTURBED is competing in the "Hard Rock" category against ROB ZOMBIE, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE MARS VOLTA, and JUDAS PRIEST.

The 51st annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 8) at 8 p.m. ET.

DISTURBED is currently on a U.S. trek that brings the band to Midland, Texas on Thursday night (February 5).

The fourth edition of DISTURBED's Music As A Weapon tour begins on March 20th in Madison, Wisconsin, and stretches into mid-May, with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, LACUNA COIL, and CHIMAIRA also on the bill.

Let me remind you that many metal bands have been in this category. Oh, and fuck you; if you and the other haters had a shred of talent that this band has then you would actually be proving it by producing music. But you and the haters are not, so you're all a bunch of twats.

Even though the Grammys are incredibly lame, I hope Disturbed wins over the other bands.

Why would anyone be excited about a Grammy? It's the most useless award aside from a Golden Globe.

"Awards are never based on talent these days."

If they were, that douchebag Lil Wayne would've never even got to attend the ceremonies.

"Awards are never based on talent these days."

If they were, you'd be seeing Punto Omega on stage instead of Kanye West.

I love how sarcastic the title sounds. It makes me feel all warm inside.

That's truly repulsive - it hurts to see no talent rewarded.

deserves to win this award. They work so goddman hard on the last record. Not to mention that Inside The Fire is by far one of their best and most successful songs to date.

Good luck guys!
