HATEBREED: 'For The Lions' European Release Date Announced - Feb. 24, 2009
Hardcore metal leaders HATEBREED will release their long-awaited new covers album, "For The Lions", in Europe on May 11, 2009 via Century Media Records. Due in the U.S. on Tuesday, May 5 via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records), tis new release is the follow-up to the band's #1 Billboard-charting DVD "Live Dominance", which came out last September.

The songs on "For The Lions" were carefully selected by HATEBREED to represent a panoramic view of some of their favorite artists and greatest musical inspirations. Having completed the album in 2008, the band felt their work wasn't done yet and just returned to the studio with original guitar player Wayne Lozinak to record additional tracks for the album. The four new covers are among the most bludgeoning the band has yet to record. They are "Ghosts Of War" (SLAYER), "Supertouch/Shitfit" (BAD BRAINS), "Thirsty" (BLACK FLAG) and "Suicidal Maniac" (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES).

"For The Lions" was produced, engineered and mixed by long-time band associate Chris "Zeuss" Harris.

"For The Lions" track listing:

01. SLAYER - Ghosts of War
02. CRO-MAGS - It's The Limit
03. SUICIDAL TENDENCIES - Suicidal Maniac
04. SEPULTURA - Refuse/Resist
05. METALLICA - Escape
06. BAD BRAINS - Supertouch/Shitfit
07. MISFITS - Hatebreeders
08. D.R.I. - Evil Minds
09. MADBALL - Set It Off
10. SICK OF IT ALL - Shut Me Out
11. BLACK FLAG - Thirsty
12. NEGATIVE APPROACH - Sick Of Talk
13. CROWBAR - All I Had I Gave
14. MERAUDER - Life Is Pain
15. AGNOSTIC FRONT - Your Mistake
16. JUDGE - Hear Me
17. OBITUARY - I'm In Pain
18. SUBZERO - Boxed In

HATEBREED recently announced the departure of guitar player Sean M. Martin and the return of original guitarist Wayne Lozinak.

HATEBREED will play a special one-off show on May 1 at Toad's Place in New Haven, Connecticut, performing songs from the forthcoming covers album and of course, longtime favorites.

"Live Dominance", the first-ever DVD from HATEBREED, will be released in Europe via Century Media on the following dates:

Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Italy: Friday, March 20
Spain, Portugal: Tuesday, March 24
Sweden, Finland, Hungary: Wednesday, March 25
Rest Of Europe: Monday, March 23

It will be released as standard DVD as well as a limited-edition DVD featuring the entire main show as a "crushing" audio live CD in special packaging!

"Live Dominance" sold 5,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 1 on Billboard's Top Music Videos chart.

"Live Dominance" includes over two hours of live footage including the full sold-out show at Harpo's in Detroit shot in March 2008 on the band's Supremacy tour. The multi-camera concert was filmed entirely in high definition. The DVD also includes a ton of bonus features shot specifically for the release including brand-new band interviews, bonus live videos, fan testimonials, and much, much more. "Live Dominance" was directed and edited by Kevin Custer with musical production/mixing coming from Grammy Award winner Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD).

Covering the Misfits' "Hatebreeders" isn't a surprise here. But covering Metallica's "Escape" is.

Hatebreed is a band formed solely to answer the question:

How many fist-pumping, "Don't judge me, motherfucker!" songs can a band write before the novelty wears off?

As of this posting, the count is in the 100's...

Jesus.

Guilty pleasure for me.
They will never be Dream Theater but they def write some pretty cool break down parts which is a nice departure from some of the other heavier music I listen to.

NOt the best ....not the worst...but def fist pump worthy (lol)

I still have my ticket for the Hershey concert but I couldn't get a ride out there. I heard that the show actually got cancelled and I'm trying to verify that. Watching Get Thrashed got me thinking about it again.
Anyone have any helpful info on that?

It sucks because I usually have to watch them put on a shitty show when they are opening up for a a band that I actually want to see. These guys represent the tardcore scene and I don't know why they would release a cover album.

GWAR OWNS 2009!!

Hatebreed is to "Don't judge me I had a fucked-up youth" what AC/DC are to "Rock n' Roll this and that..."
