Reunited COLD To Release New Album In The Fall

The reunited COLD — Scooter Ward on vocals, Jeremy Marshall on bass, Terry Balsamo on guitar and Sam McCandless on drums — is eager to hit the road in anticipation of its long-awaited new studio album, tentatively due in the fall on Sonic Star Records. Support on the trek will come from the Pennsylvania rock band THE DRAMA CLUB and THE KILLER AND THE STAR, the new project created by COLD's Scooter Ward. The tour will kick off on March 17 in Atlanta, Georgia. A complete list of shows is available at KillerTours.com. Ward originally announced COLD's break-up in February 2006, only to have a change of heart in April of that same year. In November 2006, he once again announced the group's decision to disband, explaining, "We had a great career and played together for over 20 years. We were blessed to make music and let it be heard." COLD's fourth album, "A Different Kind of Pain", was released in August 2005 via Atlantic Records. The video for the album's single "Happens All the Time" can be viewed below. Ward told Launch Radio Networks in 2005 that he went through all kinds of pain before making the "A Different Kind pf Pain" disc: his fiancée left him, he entered rehab, two guitarists departed COLD, and the band split with their label. Worst of all, Ward's sister was given two months to live in a battle with cancer.

I'm so glad the band are back together, it was a shame they broke up in the first place. They were solid on record, and brilliant live. Not many bands can pull that off :)
Now COLD, come to the UK :) PLEASE lol

Probably my favorite band from when they were around, even got a spider tattoo. Excited as shit to see them come back. Bleeding, I swear I read somewhere that Kelly was going to be a part of it, but it doesn't look that way I guess. Oh well, he'll be missed, but Terry is always nice to have!

DevilSpider, I got me a nice Cold spider tattoo on my wrist. I'm a super fan of the band, just wish they'd come over to the UK and play some shows. They haven't been since 98 :(
Oh well, I'll be happy with a new album. Scooter's side project sounds interesting from what I've heard. Different from Cold but i like it.

On the Open Door record. Kelly left to join Allele, but I heard he was in the fold for the reunion, too. Not sure what happened there...
I'm excited to see this tour and record, as I'm pretty sure it will be the last for this band. I really like having Terry back in the songwriting fold. Adding him to the lineup before 13 ways helped make that record a masterpiece.

I thought Kelly was in for sure on this one, maybe not. I'm not pumped about Scooters side project at all because I think its boring to watch him play the piano live. On another note, bring on the Cold. They have been one of my favorite bands of all time.

T-Boner.com what the hell are you talking about? Cold never wore uber tight pants or lime green or pink anything. At one point they kindna had that late 90's goth metal look, but thats about it...

ironic name. You're the only person so far (besides T-Boner, who, let's face it, doesn't count) who have said anything less than positive. It's certainly not metal, but Scooter has a great voice and they made some tremendous tunes.
my Cold spider was my very first tattoo... haha, 20 or so pieces later.

Can't wait for this album. I was disappointed to hear that they'd split a few years back. Hopefully they tour and play a few dates in the northeast.
