LAMB OF GOD Headed For Another U.S. Top 10 Debut - Feb. 25, 2009
According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, LAMB OF GOD's new album, "Wrath", is on track to move between 50,000 and 55,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land in the Top 10 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart.

LAMB OF GOD's last album, "Sacrament", sold around 63,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release back in August 2006 to debut at No. 8 on The Billboard 200. This represented almost double the amount of records sold by its predecessor, "Ashes of the Wake", which registered a first-week tally of 35,000 in September 2004.

"Wrath" was released in North America on February 24 via Epic. The CD was issued in other territories through Roadrunner Records.

"Wrath" was produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.

Roadrunner Records has uploaded a nine-minute video clip (see below) featuring footage of guitarist Mark Morton and vocalist Randy Blythe of LAMB OF GOD discussing all the songs on "Wrath".

The "Wrath" album was released in four configurations: an LP, a CD, a deluxe-edition CD with bonus disc — which contains isolated recording parts — as well as a super-deluxe version featuring a limited-edition box containing an LP, deluxe-edition CD and USB drive containing two exclusive bonus tracks.

The LAMB OF GOD North American "Wrath" tour kicks off April 2 in Phoenix, Arizona with AS I LAY DYING, CHILDREN OF BODOM, GOD FORBID, and MUNICIPAL WASTE supporting.

Stop being ignorant and closed minded. Lamb of god is no better then that "rap and hip hop horseshit" you are describing. Go get yourself some education and get beyond bands that rely on being in the top 40.

If any good bands ever got into the top forty, I wouldn't hesitate to list them. And FYI, standard college education has absolutely nothing to do with musical education. There is decent rap and hip-hop out there, if you just go looking.

One more quick note, I'm personally a fan of absolutely zero rap/hip-hop music, I just believe in giving respect to artists who deserve it, not artists who cave to popular demand and spit out watered down music with absolutely no musical basis or songwriting ability.

You're a complete ass. Just stop already, please. Last time I checked, earning your J.D. was a little more advanced than earning a Bachelor's degree. Also, you are defending hip hop on a metal site - get a clue.

Haven't bought the new album yet, plan on doing that tomorrow. Glad they continue to do well.

There are just as many great rappers out there as there are metal bands. Gotta look for 'em. It's not all sampling and gangsta shit, you racist, ignorant motherfuckers.

And given that Kerry King was featured in a Beasties Boys music video from way back, Im sure he likes/liked at least *some* rap. Although many Beastie Boys fans may be in the same category as many Eminem and ICP fans...fans of those particular groups but not a fan of any other rap group.

The same could be said of many Metallica fans. As there are many jock Metallica fans who are probably not a fan of any other metal band. Besides Limp Bizkit and other rap metal bands who arent even really metal.

I really don't think he was bragging about having gone to law school. He was simply retorting to the comment made to him telling him to go get an education. The only reason he was "bragging" about his education is because the other guy implied that he had none.

This is such a stupid fucking argument. Look at all of the amazing bands that have made the Billboard Top 40 but according to this theory they must all suck.

Metallica
Anthrax
Megadeth
Mastodon
Pantera
Fear Factory
Slayer

The list goes on and on of course.

jlcrss9- I wanted 20 bucks of ultra on pump 6.

I really love the mentally of the "hiphop sucks metal RULES!" people here. There's good and band in every genre, and someday, when you move out of mom's place, you'll probably realize that classifying yourself a fan of one specific genre, makes you a mongoloid.

NapalmSabbathCanuck= record sales overall have fallen in 3 years. Those bands you're citing, are bands who were big, suffered through low selling records, then had a resurgence. We're talking about a current band who's last 3 releases have gotten bigger and bigger.

Those bands were all in the same boat as LOG is now at a point in their respective careers, for example, Metallica got bigger and bigger with Ride the Lighting, Master of Puppets, ...and Justice for All, and Metallica. They continued to sell well on after although not as highly as the Black Album and never will again achieve that level success, then again, I doubt anyone ever does again with one album.

This album is a return to form both sonically and musically.
Sacrament has its moments but Wrath you can sit thru without skipping anything.
If it didn't leak 3 weeks early it prolly would of sold better.
LoG is solid band, they know what their good at and deliver everytime.
This band tours like crazy and it shows in their music.
If this was pre napster they would be selling in the millions.

They shoud sell more each album. Instead of less. LOG is really overrated and not that great. A hard working band is Cannibal Corpse. Which have sold more with their last two releases. Not less. That is why LOG have been dropped from Epic in Europe and I'm sure after this album. They'll be dropped in the US as well..... Really overrated band.

Suffer Demon- You really don't know what you're talking about.

Deathcore sux- I want no ice in my pepsi. Thanks dude.

NapalmSabbathCanuck- maybe you're unaware of the hiphop groups that DO write their own music and perform it? And, isn't most music "shitty lyrics over a repetitive beat?" That's what rock n roll was, a repetitive beat. "You can't write it in a tab." jesus christ. I'm going to go check out your band now; I'm sure it's spectacular.

Hits has posted an update for their predictions of next week's chart:

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 CHART PREVIEW: Not a week for the books, except for Hollywood, whose power trio debuts at #1, and Epic, which has two records in the Top 10 for the first time in recent memory, as Amanda Ghost arranges the furniture in her new office at 550 Madison.
Jonas Brothers (Hollywood debut) 80-90k
Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 70-80k
Lamb of God (Epic debut) 60-65k
Slumdog Millionaire (N.E.E.T./Interscope) 40-45k
Nickelback (Roadrunner) 35-40k
Beyonce (Music World/Columbia) 35-40k
Lady GaGa (Interscope) 30-35k
Jamie Foxx (J/RMG) 30-35k
The Fray (Epic) 30-35k
Keyshia Cole (Geffen) 25-30k

I'm glad to see HITS has revised their prediction for Lamb Of God. 60-65k was more in line with what I was expecting but I still think it could go higher than that. As long as it at least matches Sacrament's 63k debut, I'll be happy and if it goes past that mark, that would be nice. If it sells 70k or more, that would be great. Whatever it ends up selling, it seems as though a No.3 debut is guaranteed and this will be their highest charting album to date.
