MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Crüe Fest 2: The White Trash Circus': Tour Lineup Revealed?
- Feb. 27, 2009
|
|
According to the web site of Kansas City's rock station 98.9 The Rock, the August 9 stop of the "Crüe Fest 2: The White Trash Circus" tour at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri will feature the following lineup: MÖTLEY CRÜE GODSMACK THEORY OF A DEADMAN SAVING ABEL DROWNING POOLUPDATE: The graphic/image on the 98.9 The Rock web site has been changed twice since this story was first published on BLABBERMOUTH.NET — first with all the band names except MÖTLEY CRÜE and GODSMACK removed and then again with only Crüe Fest being listed next to the photo of MÖTLEY CRÜE. ***Note: The exact lineup for the trek has not yet been officially announced and the above information should be treated as a rumor only.*** The Live Nation-produced tour will visit cities across North America beginning July 19 in Camden, NJ through September 5 in Darien Lake, NY. Full tour details, including the official lineup, will be revealed at a major press conference broadcast from Fuse TV studios in New York on March 16, before MÖTLEY CRÜE hits the stage at Madison Square Garden that evening. "Crüe Fest 2" pre-sale tickets are available exclusively to MÖTLEY CRÜE fan club members. Beginning on March 2, pre-sale tickets will be available to the public. Fans can go to www.cruefest2.com for all pre sale information. As part of the robust integrated marketing and partnerships, the activities surrounding the announcement of this year's lineup and ticket on-sale include launch parties in local venues and in-theater special screenings of a performance documentary on "Crüe Fest 1", which will also be released on DVD on March 24. More details on all of these activities are available at www.motley.com.

White Trash, indeed. And Tin Omen 07 is in fact right--Crue is the only remotely interesting band on that bill.

Why do promoters do this crap? I don't see the problem with bands that play a similiar style on the same bill. These other 3 bands should tour together and call it the Misc.'s Retards Tour. But this is stupid, it better change. But know that would make too much sense to put other bands that Crue fans are familiar with and would enjoy on the bill. Loud Hard Dirty Rock. Fuckin put that goddamn Buckcherry and let freakin Airborne open up. That band is closer to the dirty rock'n'roll sound of bands like AC/DC and Motley Crue than Godsmack and Saving Cain so he can grow up to kill Able, or or what ever they are called.

The only good thing about this is that there is still a chance for an Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie co headlining tour
I will not be going to Cruefest this year, I will see them in a few weeks when they come to Hamilton though

I agree about Wednesday 13, he could use the exposure too. It doesn't have to be all 80's type bands either, just why the fuck not have some bands that really rock instead of all the pizza delivery guy bands ?

THERE ARE DIRTY BANDS THAT WOULD FIT THE TITLE: AGAIN WEDNESDAY 13 COMES TO MIND,
ALOT OF BANDS FROM FINLAND/SWED. WOULD KILL FOR THIS CHANCE,
I KNOW MOTLEY JUST WANTS TO SCORE THE YOUNGER GEN. FANS BUT THERE IS A COOLER WAY TO DO THIS AND NOT PISS THE OLDER F*CKERS OFF...LIKE MYSELF!
BTW THE SO-CALLED "OLDER F*CKERS" GOT YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY.
THERE COULD BE BANDS MOTLEY COULD TAKE OUT ON TOUR AND MAKE THEIR CAREERS...THEN NIKKI COUD TAKE THE CREDIT, ITS A WIN WIN^^^
PUT ME IN CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gotta agree with everyone else on here. I can't believe how shitty that lineup is. this is the definition of mediocre.....at best. It would be easy for Crue to do much better.....so why aren't they?
Has anyone been interested in a single one of those bands since they're temporary blip in popularity 6 years ago?

I saw and enjoyed the show last summer at Crue fest. I did get there only for the Crue... the rest of the bill was... well. Too bad they became a greatest hits touring band, like Kiss. The songs are always the same in a different order + 2 or 3 from the new album. Unfortunately, SOLA was out for about a week when I saw them and the title track was the only new song that they played. I wish they played more new songs or at least old numbers like Danger, Knock en dead, fight for your rights, etc. The tracks from Dr feelgood have been overplayed in my opinion... Just like radio killed the magic of Stairway to heaven by overplaying it...

Motley Crue puts on a badass show, just seen them 2 weeks ago. But why would they continue to tour with Theory of a Deadman, cmon, "been there done that". As for Drowning Pool, they used to be decent however I do see them on Cruefest 2 because Nikki has written some music for them and correct me if I am wrong they are under Eleven Seven Records (Sixx is the CEO). I hope that Godsmack is on this bill and Zombie signs on that would be a real nice icing on the cake. Either way see you at Cruefest 2 in CHICAGO err Tinely Park waaaaaaaaaaaay SOUTH

I would love to see Faith No More on this bill. That would be so killer. Good call Riot Act.
I have heard through the grapevine that Drowning Pool's next record will be as good if not better than Sinner(no disrespect to Dave). Here in Dallas the word on the street is that they finally got their shit back together since Dave Williams passed away. I mean think about it. It's the first time this band has ever had the same singer for TWO records. It usually takes a few years before a band can find their groove with a vocalist.
I wasn't a big fan of their last album expect for 37 stitches. So hopefully what I hear about the next album is true.

Tommy didnt slagg the last year line up, just wanted to change it and of course not all bands are available anytime so you get the bands that are free and you thing will fit the bill, its a fine bill and will give the Crue fans some change to check these bands out, thats one of the good things about concerts in the first place, checking out new bands and also celebrating the older.

It would be nice if Motley Crue just did it like the good ol' days. Festival bills mean a shortened set for all involved and more often than not, don't deliver the goods.
Amphitheaters suck as well. The Crue should take their show back to the arenas with a longer set and only one opening act. Genral admission for one low price.
