SAMMY HAGAR: 'Loud' Video Available

"Loud", the new video from Sammy Hagar, can be viewed below. The track comes off the former VAN HALEN singer's latest album, "Cosmic Universal Fashion" ( Loud & Proud Records), which sold 7,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release back in November 2008 to debut at position No. 94 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on November 18, "Cosmic Universal Fashion" marks the first official release for Loud & Proud, a Roadrunner Records imprint focusing on established artists. The title track and first single, "Cosmic Universal Fashion", was written as an online collaboration between Hagar and a young Iraqi rock and roller by the name of Steven Lost. Released via Sammy's web site RedRocker.com and already a YouTube sensation, the video (see below) was produced in the same spirit as the classic VAN HALEN video for "Right Now" and strikes a timely chord with November's upcoming Presidential election. "We are lightyears ahead of where we thought we'd be in 1992, yet there will always be issues that continue to need our attention," said Hagar. "With the upcoming election, global and national issues are at the forefront of everyone's minds. 'Cosmic Universal Fashion' is not about supporting left or right, blue or red, but rather an attempt to appeal to people on a personal level to get involved." Agreed that Sammy still has the pipes at 61. And you really realize how distinct Billy Duffy's sound is - that track sounds very Cultish. Between this and the great Planet Us track "Psycho Vertigo" that Sammy put on the album, I've gotta pick it up.

roth can only dream of writing a song this good.Sammy out does roth in every catagory except acting like an idiot.nothing that clown did solo remotly compares to what Sammy did in vh and don't bother comparing solo careers as Sammy completly blows that clown out of the water. the only thing that sucks is you had to mention his name on Sammy post.

Since he was kicked out of VH, Sammy has released 6 studio albums, 1 live album, & 2 live DVD's. You gotta respect Sammy and the fact that he continues to move forward, releasing new music for his fans. The new disc is excellent. Support Sammy and his band, and BUY a copy! Oh, and #7 is on the way - can't wait for Chickenfoot!

dang..... i can imagine ian singing this before sammy, LOL glad sammy is finally singing down a key as his pipes are definitely showing the effects of too many VH albums, with his "hamster on helium" reviews he used to get. typical feel good summer song from the red rocker.

Hey, thanks for the link. Cool tune. I'd never heard "Open" in its entirety before. I did, however, hear an interview with Sammy where he explained that it isn't on the new album because he wasn't happy with the production and didn't have time to finish it.

But just like the other Hagar CD's after Van Halen, [except for the "Marching To Mars" CD], the production is small time studio work, like someone's home studio or something.
CHICKENFOOT will have all the gloss production that this album didn't get, but this album is still pretty good sounding for a recent Hagar CD, it rocks.
That song "OPEN" has the same problem with poor production, but I, like others hope Sammy put's it on the new Chickenfoot CD with Mike and Joe.
