TOM MORELLO's STREET SWEEPER Added To NINE INCH NAILS/JANE'S ADDICTION Tour - Mar. 5, 2009
STREET SWEEPER, the Los Angeles-based rap-rock supergroup featuring guitarist Tom Morello of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and vocalist/emcee Boots Riley of THE COUP, has been confirmed as the opening act on the upcoming NINE INCH NAILS/JANE'S ADDICTION U.S. tour.

STREET SWEEPER has reportedly been testing songs out during Tom Morello's NIGHTWATCHMAN tour and is expected to release an album this year. Stanton Moore drummed for the group during the recording sessions for the CD, although it is unclear if he will be a full-time member of the band.

I thought this would be cool until I saw the video
Morello is a really overrated guitarist because of all of his angry college student RATM fans, like the idiots yelling "revolution rock" in the beginning of the video.

Someone tell me why this prick is considered "talented" again? He's not technical, he has no emotion (unless you want to count his stolen blues solo).. what the fuck is he even doing playing the guitar in the first place?

This music is bland, even more terrible than RATM. All you motherfuckers that listen to this shit and like it need to get your ears checked.

As much as I liked a lot of Rage's stuff and pretty much all of Audioslave's stuff - I probably wouldn't care to check out Street Sweeper - however, the mention of STANTON MOORE makes me interested. He played on Corrosion Of Conformity's last album "In The Arms Of God." He's AWESOME.

I'm definitely interested.
Morello studied jazz with Michael Angelo Batio (They took the same classes), he's one hell of a guitar player from a technical point of view also, just listen to his solos on RATM's debut album, if you can't tell you're either deaf or clueless.

COMMENT | He's also a great songwriter

which is the most important thing to me anyway: I don't care for shredders who can't write a catchy tune.

damn, this tour keeps getting better....

bring all three bands to Rothbury 09!

Boots Riley is a badass MC.

if you hate this music so much, please don't go to the show, sit at home and drink beer and listen to disturbed.

That sounds like a shitty remake of "Freedom", if you take away all excitement from the vocals, drums, bass, and Tom's guitar tone. What is that twinkly overdrive he's using anyways?! Although I disagree with anyone who claims he has no talent, this video certainly makes the haters seem right.

"if you hate this music so much, please don't go to the show, sit at home and drink beer and listen to disturbed."

What are you talking about? This band's fans are in the same class as Disturded's... brain-dead jocks. The only difference is that their fans know they're stupid, while RATM fans delude themselves with their pseudo-intellectual psychobabble.

What I find funny is that most people who are fans of metal or industrial are so close minded even in the genre they love. Most of the haters above are 1. wish they could open for NIN 2. are angry their fav band didn't open for the NIN tour 3. are against hip-hop or 4. wish they could famous and have looooots of chicks and money. Tom Morello has a talent and message that reaches out to a certain audience. I'm sorry if the flavor of the month or your fav band doesn't get picked. Just because my user name has rageagainst in it doesn't mean I'm supporting Streetsweaper to open, because I thin there are better bands out there, but I think the metal community needs to be more open minded to the genres of metal rather than being "my band has a bigger dick than your band!"

"Morello is a no talent. I guarantee you 99% of the Audioslave stuff was written by Chris Cornell."

^^
The only way one can get a guarantee from you is if you go and buy a toaster with the receipt.

Cornell didn't write those Rage sounding riffs which are all over the Audioslave albums. Morello and the other two wrote that.

And before you start mouthing 'no talent' take a long hard look at yourself.
I wonder what you do for a living? Shovel shit?

Regarding the song from the website - not really my cup of tea.
