SCOTT WEILAND Signs On For VH1's 'Behind The Music'

According to the Hollywood Reporter, former VELVET REVOLVER and current STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland has signed on to participate in VH1's newly revived former signature series "Behind the Music". The cable network is ordering about 10 new episodes of "Music", bringing back the iconic documentary program that ran for seven years on VH1 starting in 1997. "It felt like the time is right," said Jeff Olde, VH1 executive vice president original programing. "There's all sorts of new artists on the scene who have emerged and have these great stories. And there's other artists that we always wanted to do the first time around." In focus groups, VH1 found that "BTM" is so deeply associated with the channel, some viewers assumed the series never left the air. VH1 will update the show's format for 2009, but not too much. "I'm leery about changing certain elements," Olde said. "I think the audience will be mad if we mess with it too much." Read more from Hollywood Reporter/Reuters.

Certainly is a long story.
BTM were good at first, but after awhile they started getting sloppy with the facts and research and ran out of interesting subjects (WEIRD AL!!!).

love the Behind the Music's, even bands I'm not that into, wondered why they stopped. I thought they were good in the ratings...of course Scott's will be good, like him or not, he's got lots of crazy stories, great bands. His love for OJ now, of course....VH1 really went down hill, but Classic VH1 sort of took up the slack.
