LACUNA COIL: 'Spellbound' Video Available - Mar. 26, 2009
"Spellbound", the new video from Italian rock/metal act LACUNA COIL, has been posted at ARTISTdirect. It can also be viewed below. The clip was shot at the Dolce & Gabbana Gold restaurant in the band's hometown of Milan, Italy with director Saku. It was produced by Apnea Film and the wardrobe was provided by Dolce & Gabbana.

Commented LACUNA COIL vocalist Cristina Scabbia: "We had a great time shooting the video for 'Spellbound' and it also marks our first time working with acclaimed Italian director Saku in a location that's really peculiar. It was filmed in a very fashionable place: the restaurant Gold located in Milan, Italy, which owned by the fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana, who kindly gave us the permission to film over there! The location provides the perfect atmosphere to express the 'Shallow Life' theme. Everything is really shiny and 'bling bling' and the band is performing in the middle of a golden room full of mirrors and giant chandeliers. The story is rounded out by some actors that are interpreting different aspects of being under a spell of something: the girl obsessed by her weight and look, the guy who wants to be a superman, the politician etc."

LACUNA COIL will take part in an exclusive, acoustic performance and signing session on Thursday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Hard Rock Café in Denver, Colorado as part of March on Stage, the fifth annual global live music series featuring high-caliber iconic and emerging artists.

Committed to its "Love All, Serve All" creed, Hard Rock will donate proceeds from its March on Stage events in North America to Musicians On Call — an organization founded with the mission of bringing live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities to enhance the healing process. In addition, HardRock.com will be offering a limited-edition March on Stage commemorative pin, with proceeds benefiting the organization.

Sweden, Finland, Hungary: April 22

"Shallow Life" was recorded in September/October at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California with producer Don Gilmore, who has previously worked with LINKIN PARK, TRAPT, AVRIL LAVIGNE, GOOD CHARLOTTE, THE VERONICAS, PEARL JAM, TRUST COMPANY and DURAN DURAN.

"Shallow Life" track listing:

01. Survive
02. I Won't Tell You
03. Not Enough
04. I'm Not Afraid
05. I Like It
06. Underdog
07. The Pain
08. Spellbound
09. Wide Awake
10. The Maze
11. Unchained
12. Shallow Life

Commented Cristina Scabbia: "'Shallow Life' is a natural metamorphosis from within the band; we explored different musical territories while maintaining our own style. A mix of old and new, fast and slow... light and dark. The album production is incredibly powerful and has a beautiful purity to it. Hopefully listeners will feel the same sort of connection that we have to these songs. It would be great to think that we have produced songs that will make anybody either think, smile or cry. 'Shallow Life' has forced us to challenge ourselves. It represents the way we see ourselves in the days we live in through truth, love and lies."

Added male singer Andrea Ferro: "'Shallow Life' is just a mirror of what you see out there, it's something you should first see inside of you. It's a new cycle of songs and it's more clearly ourselves."

Dolce & Gabbana huh? Well this is NOT a pop band, now is it? I mean I know they are Italians (a fashion obsessed culture just like here on the U.S.), but come one!

"A nice vag"?

Seriously?

I am so sick and fucking tired of it always being about how Cristina looks rather than sounds.

You're a fucking dolt and a babboon.

Good band and good song, but you have to get used to the male singer but still he gives the songs something they would lack otherwise.
and they are great live. and so what they filmed it at a restaurant owned by the owners of Dolce and Gabbana??????

And no, it's not a cover. They're just comparing it to another song by the same name.

"Good band and good song, but you have to get used to the male singer ....."

Yeah, I've been listening to them for eleven years now, and I know what you mean. I'm not sure who writes all the lyrics, but he tends to have some terrible lines...
