PAUL STANLEY: New KISS Album To Be Released In September
- Mar. 27, 2009
|
|
KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley has told Brazil's O Dia Online that the band's new LP will be released in September. He also described it as "a classic KISS album" and a throwback to the "Destroyer" and "Love Gun" songwriting style bit with modern production. KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons recently confirmed the group's first album since 1998's "Psycho Circus" is being produced by Stanley. "I don't have enough time to tie my shoelaces and there's nobody else I trust more than Paul," Simmons told RollingStone.com. Regarding the sound of the new material, Simmons said, "There's nothing to prove to anybody. We're not interested in musical trends or anything else. We're too long in the tooth for that. So it's going to be sort of a classic '70s rock and roll vibe. Meat and potatoes. You know, sometimes you just want to go out and have a meat and potatoes thing [and] forget the French dressing." According to Amazon.com, Universal will release a new KISS live album called "Authorized Bootleg - Nashville Municipal Auditorium 1998" on May 26. No further details are currently available. This will be a colossal financial disaster.
Just like $hit Circus, all the hype will make it a big seller the first week, then when people actually start listening to it, will quickly realize, "I just wasted $15 bucks on this crap".
It ain't Kiss unless it's the original 4. It doesn't matter who you get or you get to dress up as Ace and Peter, this still reaks of stench, and the real fans in the USA have finally grown tired of this band of imposters.

If we're lucky, we'll get one or two memorable songs. Psycho Circus was pretty abysmal.

what all the hype about ace is. He isnt that great, imo. Thayer had to show him all his parts again last time ace was in the picture, so why not just cut ace out of the picture? Im not the biggest kiss fan, but for some reason i am looking forward to this album.

I am excited to hear some new Kiss shit, however, I just wish that Tommy and Eric had their own makeup. It sucks that the original four can not all sit in a room and hammer out all of the problems and produce a record. However, if it has to be with Eric and Tommy. Fine. Just create new identies for those guys and not disgrace the Ace and Peter makeup and name.

Psycho Circus Tour!! I WAS THERE BABY!! I had the bright idea to come in with the video camera to tape it. I got busted with the camera about 45 seconds into the FIRST SONG!!
BRILLIANT!!!!!
And someone hit it on the head above....if Ace and Peter were still in the band, there wouldn't be a new album. Simple as that. And Eric Singer kicks ass. He would kick even more ass if he'd break out the double pedal again.

The "real fans" crap. I've been into KISS since '75 and I look forward to the new cd...just like I'm looking forward to the new Ace album. The makeup situation doesn't ring my bell either, but I won't let it keep me from grabbing the new material and seeing the show.
The album WILL have a big first week...and then drop down the charts like most veteran acts do (unless you're AC/DC apparently). I think if it ultimately sells around 300,000 stateside in this day and age, that's a win for the band. I'll also bet it fares well around the globe.
Regardless...I'll buy it. If all the early reports prove true, then it can't help but be better than Psycho Circus.

Remember classic, hungry Kiss from the 70's? They were unstoppable. A time machine would fix this mess. Mostly.

As much as I love KISS, if they want to be taken seriously as a band again, they have to do a Creatures of the Night/Revenge style album
I am looking forward to this though, Paul sounded amazing on his solo tour

I thought Psycho Circus was one of their best efforts, actually. Sure, nothing special but it was solid all the way through -- a rarity for post- 1977 Kiss records.

I too liked Psycho Circus. thought it was a good album. they ounded brilliant on their tour last year. and Eric singer sounds awesome on the Alice Cooper albums he's been on, so i think this will be a great album. And people will buy it coz its new KISS material. there will be shitload of commercial stuff and advertising for it, so people won't be able to escape it.

New Kiss Album... Cool... Kiss has now the strongers line up ever... Ace was good when Ace was good... and Peter? Open up your ears... he NEVER was a very good drummer... As for Peter's solo albums... :-P listen to "All for one" if you wanna hear crap? you got it... Everybody moaning for the return of Ace and Peter (don't get me wrong Ace was always my favourite) I read some post on this issue but... wasn't Psycho Circus the return of the gods? The album wasn't that good... I am looking forward for the new album... and everyone who isn't a kiss fan or experienced Kiss: shut up! you don't know sh*t! they rule! still!
