ROB HALFORD Says Entire 'Nostradamus' Album Will Be Performed 'Late Fall, Early Winter' - Mar. 27, 2009
JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford has told Billboard.com that plans are still afoot to stage the band latest release, the 2008 rock opera "Nostradamus", in its entirely later this year. "I would say we're hypothetically looking towards late fall, early winter — in our heads we've got September, October lodged in our heads," Halford said. "That's the next big moment for the band. We've never done anything like that before."

Halford says the group is currently running through ideas of how to present "Nostradamus" on stage. "Are you just gonna stand there and play?" he noted. "Are you going to have screens? Extras? Are you going to have a stage set? What are you gonna do? Those are all things we have yet to hammer down, but we're ready to bring something very special and unique and different to the performance. It's going to be quite an exciting achievement for the band towards the end of '09.

"But what's the rush? It'll be ready when it's ready."

JUDAS PRIEST will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the classic album "British Steel" (it was originally issued in April 1980), by performing the album in its entirety for the very first time ever live on stage this summer. In addition they will be playing some old favorites.

Looking forward to see that show live. Hopefully they will put it out on DVD, as well.

It would be cool if they'd play some smaller venues as opposed to the concert bowl arenas. Either way it's a great concept. The solos on some of those songs on Nostradamus are wicked. Seeing them live would be pretty fuckin' awesome.

is the BEST opening number in the history of Judas Priest performances. I've seen them ever since 1986 anyway and the 'Prophecy' opener is even better then Electric Eye to start their shows.

These Nostradamus shows coming up are going to be so awesome. I can't wait.

If British Steel was released in April 1980..wouldn't this only make it the 29th anniversary? Minor details aside, I'd much rather hear British Steel in its entirety than Nostradamus.

I listened to it 9 or 10 times...still boring. Too many songs, and the songs don't stand out individually...Unlike Seventh Son, Operation Mindcrime (1). It's just plain boring. But if others like it, cool.

I am a fan of Priest since the 70's , and I still can't get into Nostradamus either. Maybe if I still smoked weed. I would also prefer the British Steel tour. A Stained Class tour would be fine too. Saints in HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Nostradamus is a fuckin' masterpiece, but it's unfortunately to awesome for many of you. You guys destroyed half of your braincells in the 70's and 80's, that's why you don't get the awesomness in the Nostradamus album, unlike us younger people, who just've started to destroy braincells...

I'm pretty certain that Judas Priest have destroyed their fair share of brain cells over the years as well.. so.. uhm... whatever, I lost my train of thought.

I agree that the odds are this ultimately won't happen. While some people really enjoyed "Nostradamus", it just didn't resonate with enough of their fanbase to justify taking it on the road. They could probably do mid-size theaters in a few markets, but from a financial perspective, it might not make sense.

If you're looking for production ideas for a big concept, you should reference Queensryche's Mindcrime presentation on the Empire tour -- by far the most mind-blowing show I have ever seen.

I'd much rather see Nostradamus performed in its entirety. I'm sure the band is probably looking forward to playing this more than British Steel. Its much more of a challenge musically to perform. Don't get me wrong I love British Steel but they already play a lot of this album. Nothing to complain about here really , unless they don't release both shows on dvd.

Great news. I love Priest and Nostradamus is prabobly their the best album..But unfortunately there are many primitive opinions from some "true heavy - metalist"..Who cares? This album is awesome..............
