ACE FREHLEY To Be Backed By ANTHRAX Members At Hard Rock Café Yankee Stadium Grand Opening - Mar. 30, 2009
Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will perform at the grand opening of the 7,000-square-foot Hard Rock Café in the new Yankee Stadium on Thursday, April 2. Frehley will be backed by guitarist Scott Ian (ANTHRAX), bassist Frank Bello (ANTHRAX) and drummer Anton Fig ("Late Show with David Letterman") for a performance of the classic song "New York Groove". The event is not open to the public.

Hard Rock Café Yankee Stadium is located on the corner of 161st Street and River Avenue and features seating for 210 guests. It will be open year-round to ticketholders and non-ticketholders alike with a full bar and patio seating. The restaurant will house memorabilia from top artists, with an emphasis on New York-area talent and additional Yankees-related pieces.

Ace Frehley's new solo album, "Anomaly", is tentatively due later in the year. The CD was produced and recorded in Westchester County, New York between 2007 and 2009 and was mixed by Marti Frederiksen, who has previously worked with AEROSMITH and DEF LEPPARD, among many others.

Frehley recently spent time on the road fronting a band that featured second guitarist Derrek Hawkins, drummer Scot Coogan (ex-BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION) and bassist Anthony Esposito (ex-LYNCH MOB).

I bet Scott Ian was happy about this, seeing as he'd apparantly wanted to be Aces' replacement instead of Thayer.

"The event is not open to the public."

Just like the rest of the Yankee Stadium. With the ridiculous decision to reduce seating capacity and raise ticket prices, no longer can Average Joe fan afford to go any of these games, for only major corporations, StubHub, the mafia, and other strong-arm entities may purchase tickets to do with what they please.

Awful sightlines, reduced visibility due to obstructions like steel pillars and beams, and other safety concerns also mar this taxpayer funded waste of resources.

The Yankees brain trust has completely taken a dump on the fans, with no apologies. Awful.
