Florida FOX Affiliate Decides Against Airing 'Osbournes: Reloaded'

According to The News Herald, Panama City, Florida Fox affiliate WPGX has decided not to air "Osbournes: Reloaded", which premieres Tuesday night after "American Idol" General Manager David Cavileer says the show does not fit with "community standards." Instead, the station will air an episode of "The Simpsons". In an e-mail to The News Herald, Cavileer called the program "unsuitable and contrary to the public interest." "I just felt it was not keeping with community standards," he said. "This is more of an MTV thing," Cavileer added. "They are reporting it to be a variety show. There is worse stuff than this out there. This show in my market does not serve my public in Panama City. I did not feel it was appropriate." Cavileer has not viewed a full episode of the program but made the decision after watching a six-minute preview. " 'Osbournes: Reloaded' was thoroughly vetted by our Standards and Practices department to ensure it was appropriate for broadcast during the scheduled time period," said Todd Adair, director of publicity for Fox Broadcasting Co. "If any network affiliate feels the programming may be inappropriate for its individual market, however, it has the right to pre-empt the program." Read the entire report from The News Herald.

I think this show will most likely tank anyways. It's too bad they see the need to censor something from a network affiliate, even if it looks like crap. "This show doesn't serve my market"... well that's a judgement call.

I decided to do the same thing with my tv, and I don't care if it's airing in my neck of the woods or not.
If it's truly in bad taste, people won't watch it, and if it's good, in this Youtube world, it will be shown rather quickly.
But for a station, time is money and if they think it sucks, put up something that will work.
I watched a commercial of it and think its just a frikin catastrophe, can't blame 'em lol.

This is the most backwards ass, redneck, screwed up place you would ever what to see. "Not keeping with community standards"? Give me a fuckin break! Spring Break 2009 has been going for about 3 weeks and we have had hit and run deaths, a stabbing, a shooting, kids falling off roofs and balconies, one kid found dead in a ditch, and who knows how many rapes. That Osbournes show must be one screwed up show if it is worse than those community standards. I didn't care anything about watching it but no I gotta check that show out for sure. Oh, and the worse part of Spring Break has yet to happen.

Sadly I missed their First show. Will be watching next week..., for sure. For those of you who don't like silly fun....., shame on you!
The Osbourne Family makes me laugh. Love all of them.
