SLIPKNOT Frontman Sings POISON Classic With STEEL PANTHER; Video Available - Apr. 7, 2009
Video footage of SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor performing the POISON classic "Nothin' But A Good Time" with STEEL PANTHER last night (Monday, April 6) at the Key Club in West Hollywood, California can be viewed below.

STEEL PANTHER is the '80s metal/hard rock tribute band formerly known as METAL SKOOL. The group's lineup includes guitarist "Satchel" (real name Russ Parrish; ex-FIGHT) and singer "Michael Starr" (real name Ralph Saenz; ex-L.A. GUNS). Onstage, the band both pays tribute to and lampoons the heyday of '80s glam metal. The group's between-song comedy includes jests at conflict between bandmembers, discussions of drugs, sex, and improvised humor with the crowd.

STEEL PANTHER's debut album, "Feel The Steel", will be released on June 9 via Universal/Republic.

@ all the young retards here.

Wake up call numbnuters, all metal from the 80's is considered metal, not rock. The only rock band from the 80's were AC/DC, and they were called hard rock.

Kids are so funny.

I adore Corey Taylor! Nothing better than a talented musician who doesn't take themselves too seriously. I mean, fuck what all the narrow minded jerks on here are saying, he was obviously having a good time, so more power to him!

And @ zakkimal: you're totally right dude, the kids these days are way too obsessed with their genres, sub-genres and sub-sub-whatthefuckisthis-genres! Metal is Metal. And Hair Metal was still Metal. Simple as.

BINGO! This is why metalheads will never be taken seriously. They have too many sub-genre names and hatred towards other bands that dont fit their definition. Even in the 80's it was retarded because there was hatred from the thrashers to the hair metal bands. Myself, I enjoyed most of it but not all of it. A good song is a good song PERIOD. I have disliked Poison in their heyday, but now I admit they had a few good songs back then, this being one of them.

Guy gets up to do a little jamming with Metal Skool errrrrr Steel Panther and you rip on him like all hell. No wonder why musicians think most of the people on Blabbermouth and the internet are basically morons.

Corey has some great pipes on him. You hear do his Slipknot and Stone Sour stuff. But then he has all kind of jam sessions with different bands singing a wide range of music and they guy just kills it everytime. Hands down one the best voices in metal/rock/whatever you want to label it.

P.S.: Right on Citizen Dick

Ain't that the truth. I sometimes wonder if sexual preferences are learned behavior how anyone survived the 80s NOT turning out gay as all hell. Even our action movies were almost ridiculously homoerotic.

Dependable, I don't know about great. I neither love nor loathe any of his projects but there's something about the dipshit way he comes off in interviews that has me rooting against him. When I picture Corey Taylor in high school I don't think of a long haired dude sneaking tokes behind wood shop between class, I think of a dude that drove a Camaro and beat the shit out of the kind of guys that considered themselves metal heads.

Anyone else notice the solo that dude played? It was nothing like CC Deville's from the original song (which I'm not saying was that good either), but this one was all off key and just lousy. I suck at playing guitar and I could probably improvise something not far off from that. Maybe he was making it sound bad on purpose. I don't know. Whatever. Why have I wasted a minute and a half typing this?

yea....right. you're a better guitarest than this dude? I think not. He was just poking fun at the actual solo. These guys (Steel Panther) put on a great show and sound amazing live. They ARE a pardy band. I saw them Novemebr last year. First thing that came to my mind was "WTF is this?". The show was very intertaining. I stayed and watch the whole show.

At least in the 80's bands didn't whine all the time & cry about political problems.. Glam metal will always kick the sh*t out of anything by Korn, Limp Bizkit, STP, Nirvana, etc.. that was the ultiamte low in music.. no rock stars, just talentless losers.. if you saw a grunge musician today you wouldn't know who they were, if you saw someone from Crue or KISS you'd see a rock star.

Not that glam could ever touch gods like Venom, Bathory or Darkthrone..

Why the fuck are all these people bashing Corey? He's a great vocalist, he knows how to put on a good show and he ALWAYS delivers. He is probably the best singer in metal of the last decade. Whether you like his vocals or not, you've got to admit that the guy is very talented.

Actually I'm 23. But eventually it all comes down to taste. For instance, I've never been into Patton's work. It's just not my cup of tea. And this "clown", as you call him, happens to be a multi-talented musician.

Corey just does whatever he wants to do. He doesn't give a rat's ass about what the pathetic narrow-minded band bashers on Blabbermouth think. You just can't deal with the fact that Slipknot is more popular than any of Patton's bands or projects have ever been.
