ROB ZOMBIE Says 'H2' Has 'Nothing To Do' With 1981's 'Halloween 2' Movie - Apr. 15, 2009
Rob Zombie recently invited fans to submit questions about "H2", the sequel to his hit 2007 remake of "Halloween". He promised to pick the best ten questions and answer them on his MySpace blog.

He writes: "Although you've asked over 500 questions, many of them are the same questions over and over. So here's the answer to the first question that keeps getting asked.

"Is this movie a remake of 'Halloween 2'?

"The answer is no. This movie has nothing to do with the movie that came out back in 1981. The only thing slightly the same is my film has a brief hospital scene at the top of the film and even that is 100% different. These are all new characters and all new situations. This is not a remake of a sequel, this is the continuing story of the 'Halloween' I started. So hopefully that clears up that confusion.

"Now I present a killer moment from the above-mentioned hospital scene (see photo below)."

Rob Zombie spoke with FangoriaOnline.com on April 8 about writing and directing "H2", which was shot near Atlanta, Georgia. Already controversial to fans is the revelation that serial killer Michael Myers spends nearly 75 percent of the movie not wearing his iconic mask. Zombie acknowledged that he's taking more creative liberties this time, saying, "This is not a remake of (1981's) 'Halloween II'; this is totally my thing, my story. After I made'Halloween', I was totally burned out. I said I'd never make a sequel. But after every record, every tour, I say the same thing."

Also returning for the sequel are actors Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Loomis, Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie Strode, and Tyler Mane as Myers.

Zombie's wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, is also returning as Myers' mother, although the character died in the first film. Zombie hints that this has to do with the state of mind of main character Laurie Strode, explaining, "As Laurie is Michael's sister, I'm playing like he's clearly insane and so is she, but her insanity doesn't manifest itself in the same way ... She's slipping into insanity throughout the whole movie."

"H2" is due out on August 28, 2009.

Zombie's manager and producer, Andy Gould, told ShockTillYouDrop.com that the rocker-turned-director's next feature film will definitely be his boxer epic "Tyrannosaurus Rex". Although it was originally announced last year, Zombie put it aside to direct "H2".

....I wonder if this is the only scene that's lit decently. His last Halloween flick was one of the most poorly lit films i've scene in my life trumping only the Alien vs Predator sequel. Not that it really matters anyway because Rob can't write, produce or film a movie to save his life....should've stuck to making music or gone away entirely. Not sure why exactly everyone is on this guys nuts over his films. Seems odd for a guy that supposedly is very knowledgable about horror and is a big fan

ROB CAN'T THINK FOR HIMSELF, HE HAS TO USE SOMEONE ELSES FORMULA TO GAIN ACCESS TO A FANBASE HE DID NOT CREATE. WHY USE THE TITLE "H2" THEN???

HE NEED TO WRITE HIS OWN MOVIES, COME UP WITH HIS OWN IDEAS, AND THEN WE CAN TAKE HIM ON AS A SERIOUS DIRECTOR IN THIS GERNE. UNTIL THEN HE IS A NOBODY.

"Halloween was fucking hardcore! Much better than any other version!"

No. Rob Zombie's Halloween is a steaming fucking turd. I would've walked out had I not sworn a solemn oath to myself to never walk out of a movie ever, no matter how terrible. Ugly, slow, incoherent, terribly acted, edited, and directed. The movie made me hate William Forsythe. Any movie that does that deserves to be burned.

And this is coming from a House of 1,000 Corpses apologist (it's not a good movie, no, but I like the funhouse atmosphere of it) and someone who digs The Devil's Rejects.

Well aren't you a fucking genius. Last I checked, HO1KC was an original idea and, therefore, by extension, so is The Devil's Rejects. That's 2 for 4, Gump.

Sheri Moon will be in the next Rob Zombie movie? I'm shocked! Remember when Tim Burton had his Girlfriend Lisa Marie in all of his films? Now she's not his girlfriend and surprise she's not in them anymore. Sheri Moon better do as much acting as she can now, because if they ever split up she'll be back at the IHOP waiting tables again.

Knows their shit.

It's public record, kiddies. Zombie doesn't have the cash to do his other project and the Halloween folks wanted to do a sequel immediately following the open weekend success of Zombie's first Halloween.

Rob Zombie publicly stated several times that he was only doing ONE Halloween movie...Thus, why he killed off Loomis and Michael Myers in his flick.

I'm sure the twist for this sequel will be the same as several other horror movies...Laurie has visions of Michael killing, but turns out she's gone nuts and is doing the killing herself. SHOCKING!

Either way, after this is released he can do his T-Rex movie or whatever new project he's working on.

His version of Halloween had the same feel as his other movies. I loved House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects but Halloween wasn't that great. He said Halloween 2 wont be a remake but he needs to be original again. If he does Halloween 3 I wont give a shit cause that one sucked.

I think Rob's movies are great.
The reason why House of 1000 Corpses was so great, was because it was different to every other piece of shit horror movie out there.

I have not seen a decent horror movie in ages, because they are basically the same thing done over and over again.

I cant wait to see what twisted movie Rob comes out with next, aside from Halloween 2.

So far I have enjoyed all of Rob's movies. Totally creative in the way he shoots his films.

I am excited to see what he has in mind for H2. I really enjoyed the way he made The Shape a real character; one not bound to the supernatural. The only reason Halloween the original was a hit was because Myers gets up at the end because he cant die. At the time is scared people... now its almost common to see a bad guy get up after hes has been killed. Im glad Rob didnt put that into his movie. So that leaves me interested on how he is going to make H2. If he does bring the supernatural feel to the movie I hope he does it better than than what has been done in the past. Question to all you who love the original movies better... Who is the guy in the leather coat with the tattoo on his arm? We may never know the secret of The Shape's supernatural ability to come back to life!

Rob is back in music... he is working with John 5... watch Punisher: War Zone because at the end of it Zombie has a new track... which is pretty cool I might add. John 5 is a guitar god!!!
