COREY TAYLOR: First Footage Of 'Secret' Des Moines Show Posted Online

COREY TAYLOR AND THE JUNK BEER KIDNAP BAND, featuring SLIPKNOT/ STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor, performed a "secret show" this past Friday, April 24 at People's Court in Des Moines, Iowa. It was a warm-up concert for their appearances at Rockfest in Kansas City on May 30 and Lazerfest in Des Moines on May 31. Watch two short fan-filmed video clips of the performance below. THE JUNK BEER KIDNAP BAND reportedly formed as a stoner rock disco band (imagine EDGAR WINTER meets PRINCE). Over the course of rehearsals, Corey brought in new material that he had been working on that didn't fit SLIPKNOT or STONE SOUR. The band played originals (including a STONE SOUR song or two) and some covers.

Corey Taylor has tons of talent and he can do anything he wants, and sing anything from the theme from Cheers, some "Spinal Tap" moment with his humorous hair band, some solid commercial rock with SS or some more extreme material like what he does with Slipknot.
You guys couldn't resist to read this post even if you pretend not to care. Quit smoking cocks and refrain from posting here.

I've never posted on here regardless of the garbage spewed forth by the majority of you 'elitist' metal fans, but felt it necessary for once. The reason I, along with many other metal fans, ever started listening to metal was the fact that it was an escape from the plastic world, and we would be accepted by others who had a similar interest. Sure, there's some bands and artists who may strike you as not what you're into, but it's fucking pathetic how often some half-brained douche-bag sitting in his mothers basement can take a personal bash at some of the most talented artists on the planet with nothing to back it up with other than some useless bullshit comment that bears no real substance. Personally, I will never count any band out, regardless of the genre, until I give it the time to listen to more than a couple songs, and get the background of an artist.
How you could bash Corey Taylor for having no talent is completely beyond the capabilities of my comprehension. The guy has one of the most amazing voices in music period, combining one of the best blood curdling screams with a chilling melodic voice that could bring you to tears with a song like Bother. Besides his vocals, he is capable of writing some amazing lyrics beyond the few singles most of the 'critics' on blabbermouth are judging them by. Just read the majority of the lyrics on all the albums, especially Vol. 3 and All Hope Is Gone and then try to defend the fact that there is no talent within them.
There is a reason that a band like Slipknot, who by all means should have never been as mainstream as they are considering the majority of their content, are now one of the best selling artists out there, and it's because they are in fact talented. I won't deny the fact that bands I'm not a big fan of such as Napalm Death, Nile, Behemoth, or even bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine have talent, so I can appreciate the fact that some people enjoy and relate to that talent, therefore, I wouldn't bash them with some mindless, personal critique I may have because I don't enjoy their music.
So bascially the point I'm trying to get across is, SHUT THE FUCK UP AND BANG YOUR HEAD TO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU LOVE!

I don't give a fuck if he can sing well, the stuff he writes is unbearable either due to it's faux extremeness or overly poppy structure. The reason they sold/sell so well is because nu-metal was the big thing when they first got signed to Roadrunner. A bunch of mallkiddie trend followers grew up with them so of course anything he/they do will be lapped up. And I don't need to be able to play guitar or sing to determine whether or not someone is doing a bad job. You ever eat something bad? If you have, you've probably complained to someone. Using that idiot's logic a few posts up, you can't say whether or not it's bad because chances are, you're not a cook. Fucking cop out excuses. Popular shit is still shit.

No matter what is said here, Corey Taylor is one of the top 5 vocalists ever in roc/metal music, along with Howard from Killswitch, Halford, Dickenson, Dio, Araya and even Seb Bach in his time.
