SEPULTURA And SOULFLY To Share Stage At Germany's DEVILSIDE FESTIVAL - Apr. 27, 2009
SEPULTURA and SOULFLY (featuring former SEPULTURA frontman Max Cavalera) will share the stage for the first time ever at the Devilside Festival on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Landschaftspark in Duisburg-Nord, Germany.

The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

MOTÖRHEAD
SOULFLY
BLOODHOUND GANG
MISFITS
SEPULTURA
MILLENCOLIN
ANTHRAX
SODOM
DISCO ENSEMBLE
ALL SHALL PERISH
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH
HATESPHERE
CRO-MAGS
THE BONES
PETER PAN SPEEDROCK
DISCIPLINE
ELVIS JACKSON
HAMMERHEAD
THE CARBURETORS

(Note: SEPULTURA an SOULFLY have played some of the same European festivals before, but never on the same day.)

In a recent interview with Blistering.com, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser was asked if there any resentment toward the band's new lineup in Brazil since in North America, it seems the old lineup is that all people want to concern themselves when it comes to SEPULTURA. "Everywhere we feel very positive vibrations," Kisser replied. "Max has played a lot more in America than us, so his point of view was spread much more in the press. I guess that's normal, it's propaganda. Max is crazy — he says crazy stuff in interviews, contradicts himself a lot and you can never count on what he says, so I guess people are confused. People can say or think whatever they want, but I wish we could have done without that. We are going to have the chance to go back to America. This album is really strong and the reaction has been strong as well. I've been doing a lot of interviews with people in the United States and it's been very positive. People have to listen to the music with an open mind and ears and not with all the gossip and politics and bullshit. SEPULTURA is something that is alive. It's not something that stopped in '95 or '96. We create this band everyday."

When asked if he braces himself with every interview he does for the question regarding a SEPULTURA reunion, Kisser replied, "Definitely [laughs]. Since Max left, it's been going on and when Igor [drums; Max's brother] left… even more so. Some people make up the pressure for us to do it, but there's nothing to it — we're not interested in it all. We're very focused on what we're doing now and that's because we want to lead and do whatever we want. I don't understand all of this bullshit. We're very alive and looking toward the future — we're not plastic people. "

Should be interesting to see what Max would have to say about sharing the same stage with his Ex Band that he was a part of.

Also the fest got some other greats acts as well:

Motorhead
Anthrax
Misfits

Soulfly go on before the headliner. Can you imagine Andreas having to face more questions about Max? I could see Andreas's pissed off face already.

Sepultura died when Max left, and even moreso when Igor took off too. There is another band going around with the name Sepultura with Andreas on guitar.

Id sooner watch and enjoy The Bloodhound Gang, and they only have one known album here in the U.S.

Look Andreas should thank his fuckin' lucky stars that he is even in a band like Sepultura!!! The fact that Sepultura even exist today and is amazing....When Igor left, the Sepultura name should've been changed!!! The founders and creaters of the Sepultura sound and name were Max and Igor Cavalera and Andreas should be kissing there ass' that he even got the chance to jam with the guys!!!

SHOULD PEOPLE BE TALKING ABOUT A SEPULTURA REUNION?
Of course they fuckin should, because back in the day Sepultura was a mean, aggressive, kick ur fuckin' ass of a THRASH METAL band which released some best metal albums ever!!! Let's be realistic if the Cavalera brothers had not created the Sepultura brand, Andreas today would be working behind a counter serving burgers somewhere in Brazil and that's the REALITY!!!

SHOULD SOULFLY BE PLAYING ROOTS AND OTHER SEPULTURA SONGS LIVE?
Your damn right they can and should!!! Fuck n' hell, Max wrote the songs so he has every right to fuckin play them whether he'd be with Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy or any other band.

ANDREAS IF I WAS YOU I WOULD BE PRAYING AND THANKING GOD YOU WERE EVEN SELECTED TO BE A GUITARIST FOR SEPULTURA AND NOT SLAGGIN OFF THE CAVALERA BROS.

Paulo is like Rex, keeps himself away from gossip bullshit. Gotta respect the guy for that.

Fuck all the haters. Sepultura now is more interesting. They made more shitty albums but with Dante and A-Lex they're really a powerful band now. In fact I wanna see the CURRENT sep more than old Sep.

But put all personal tastes and insights aside, I wish both camps well with the sharing stage deal. \m/
