DEF LEPPARD: Deluxe Editions Of 'Pyromania', 'Adrenalize' Due In June - Apr. 29, 2009
DEF LEPPARD, Britain's greatest arena rock band, is set to release deluxe editions of the classic albums "Pyromania" and "Adrenalize" on June 8 (U.K.) / June 9 (world) / June 16 (North America). The band also headline Dublin's O2 Arena on Friday, June 12 and headline the U.K.'s Download festival on Sunday, June 14.

Having sold over 65 million albums worldwide since their debut release in 1980 and proved themselves one of rock music's hardest working and consistently powerful live bands (playing to over 50 million fans in the last 15 years alone), DEF LEPPARD's timely deluxe editions are a must for any discerning music fan.

DEF LEPPARD remains one of only five rock groups who can claim two separate original 10-million-plus-selling albums in the U.S. ("Pyromania" being one of them). The others are THE BEATLES, LED ZEPPELIN, PINK FLOYD and VAN HALEN.

Both deluxe editions will feature deluxe digipack gatefold packaging with expanded booklets containing rare and previously unseen photographs, comprehensive sleeve notes telling the story behind each album and include images of rare single covers and memorabilia from the period. Liner notes come from Rolling Stone's David Fricke.

"Pyromania", DEF LEPPARD's third album originally released in 1983, was the album that took the band to the global stage. Produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange, the album sold over 10 million copies in the USA alone and spawned the huge singles "Photograph", "Rock Of Ages" and "Foolin'". The deluxe edition features a remastered version of the original album and a bonus disc of a previously unreleased 15-track show from The Forum in Los Angeles in 1983.

The full track listing follows:

Disc One - Pyromania:

01. Rock! Rock! (Til You Drop)
02. Photograph
03. Stagefright
04. Too Late For Love
05. Die Hard The Hunter

05. Billy's Got A Gun
06. Mirror Mirror (Look Into My Eyes)

10. Bringin' On The Heartbreak
11. Switch 625
12. Let It Go
13. Wasted
14. Stagefright
15. Travellin' Band

"Adrenalize", DEF LEPPARD's fifth studio album from 1992, followed the enormous "Hysteria" (released in 1987) and cemented the band as the dominant arena rock band. The album was recorded following the tragic death of guitarist Steve Clark — with Phil Collen recording all guitar parts — and dedicated to his memory. The album featured huge singles such as "Let's Get Rocked" and "Make Love Like A Man" and debuted at No. 1 in both the U.K. and USA (and went on to sell over 7 million copies worldwide). The album was produced by DEF LEPPARD and Mike Shipley with Robert "Mutt" Lange as executive producer. The deluxe edition features a remastered version of the original album with a bonus disc of rare, live, acoustic and demo versions.

Great news - well, the Pyromania part. I've been waiting for this for years. But the real question is - will we get re-issues of On Through the Night, and better yet, Hign and Dry ???

The world didn't need this album the first time round, never mind an EXPANDED edition 15 years after the fact. What next, an EXPANDED version of SLANG?^%#@!

What. country music not working out for them and now they're going to go back to releases from 15-25 years to try to recapture lost glory?

The Pyromania one looks very good to me, especially with a concert from back in 1983 when they were relevant to the metal world........

I'd LOVE to see On Through The Night finally mastered and evened out...and a bonus disc with "The First EP" and a legit release of the tracks on "First Strike" would be even better. For those who haven't heard First Strike, download it...there's some great songs on there.

The Pyromania looks great, especially the concert disc.

We need a Hign N Dry remaster with a concert from that tour.

First off, 'Britain's greatest arena rock band'? Hmm. I mean, weren't oh, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Stones, The Who, etc etc. all from Britain as well? As for the 'deluxe company' they share, the difference is that Def Lep have ONLY two 10-million plus selling albums (not to diminish that accomplishment) where as all the other acts listed have many more than 2! And yea, really, a deluxe edition of 'Adrenalize' instead of 'On Through the Night' or 'High N' Dry'? Lame...

Adrenalize...no way.

1st 3 albums are good / decent. High 'n Dry is easily their best.

Starting w/ Hysteria, this band sucked donkey balls.

Adrenalize has White Lightning which is one of their best songs. It really kicks ass.

...because i'd rather get unreleased tracks, b-sides, etc.

adrenalize was an ok album... if it were released by any other band, it might even be considered... problem is that it's being compared to coming off of hysteria and pyromania, which was the band's height of popularity... plus, it was the first album without steve clarke...

while i'm still not sold on a live show being the bonus material for an album re-release (rather prefer stuff connected to the creative process of the record itself), will probably check it out... i prefer live records to be their own thing, not a throwaway...

The 1983 L.A. Forum show has been out in the bootleg circles for ages now. They'll have to doctor the shit out of that show in the studio. It's a great sounding bootleg ofr sure. The problem is, the band sounds like crap, and there is no way having a better quality version will make it any better. During the Pyromainia Tour, Krokus was blowing Def Leppard off the stage in every town they played.

I cant' wait to hear how they touch this show up in order to fool people that they sounded worth a damn live during that time period.

I liked Def Leppard up until that point, but they really blew live in 1983. Pre 1983, no so bad. Post? Auggh.

Yep, I have that LA bootleg as well (circulating under the name "Rock Til You Drop). It is a two disc boot, so I wonder if some of the stage banter is going to be cut to make it fit on one disc. I am surprised they don't pimp the fact that Brian May of Queen is a guest guitarist on "Traveling Band".

I just looked at my boot. Looks like they are going to have to cut out some of the stage banter as well as solos from both guitarists to make this show fit on one disc...

I guess many of you have no life....I saw this news article and clicked on the link and had to say....

These guys are great and their last album was at number 5 and many bands would kill for that after almost 30 years in the biz...they are still putting on great shows...now...this latest tour....I have to question because Def Leppard was NEVER a hair band...they did fluff up but not like the cross dressing and lypo band Posion that is opening for them this summer.

That did make me sick and feel that after 5 summers of killer record breaking summer tours they need to stop and take a break.
