IRON MAIDEN 'All-Star Jam' To Be Held In Florida

The first-ever IRON MAIDEN "all-star jam" is scheduled to take place May 29 at the Haven in Winter Park, Florida. The organizers say, "We encourage all musicians who live in the Central Florida area to [ click here] to sign up to perform your favorite IRON MAIDEN songs! Space and time is limited, so you'd better hurry if you're planning on participating." Members of the following bands will participate in the jam: PAIN PRINCIPLE

Cool concept, too bad they stole the name of Van Morrrison's excellent mid-60s punk R&B band. BTW,I saw a Mercyful Fate tribute band in SF awhile back and it was fucking killer! I forgot their name though.

I would rather just watch McBrain Damage, Nicko's Maiden cover band.
They're really great, and Dave "the Beast" Spitz (brother of Dan, and one-time Sabbath member) plays bass for them.
Saw them in 2004...only a couple hundred people attended, but it was a fun show full of Maiden songs, plus War Pigs. Afterwards, Nicko graciously signed endless amounts of Maiden memorabilia for everyone.

Good Call. Mcbrain Damage is would be much better than ALL of these Bands and the Beast is the Man and a great guy!!! WAR PIGS is killer also. My band has played a few shows with them and they are the real deal!

THANKS to Blabbermouth for posting this story. This whole gig started as kindof a joke, and now it's BLOWN UP big time! The ALL-STARS in question consist of local musicians and friends who are all coming together to have fun, drink beer, and jam on some IRON MAIDEN in various configurations, and positions. Nothing too serious, just FUN !!!

if you were a local where this show is being put on, you would recognise the "all-star" label. these are all awesome, hard-working, and uber-talented musicians who are guaranteed to put on one hell of a show. don't knock this show til' you see it. ;)

I love Maiden beyond any band but this is no "All-Star" Jam. Plenty of All-Stars in FL that could be playing from Savatage, Crimson Glory, and loads of Death Metal guys from Cannibal Corpse etc..now that would be a show!

I'm proud to say that Orlando / Central Florida BY FAR has the best METAL scene in the state, and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.
What other METAL scene even tries to bring together it's fans and musicians for the purpose of simply having fun ??? I'm hearing crickets !!!

Plenty of fun among bands at shows here in Fort Lauderdale/Miami too. I agree there are a lot of good bands in Orlando, but plenty down here also.

Wow! This is my first time on this site and its pretty funny to see people from other places criticize bands and people for doing something they would enjoy if it was in a place they hang out or a band they know. The bands putting this on should get credit alone for thinking up this idea. Rock on guys see you there! Oh and I dare anyone to find a PA system as awsome as the Haven and a sound guy as talented or as dedicated as Canadian Dave in the Orlando area!

I am a Central Florida local music supporter, and I've been at every (significant) venue in the Orlando area. That being said, The Haven is unmatched locally when it comes to both sound and lights. Other venues (The Social, Backbooth, Firestone...etc.) are laughable. Their downtown locations are the only positive thing about them, and even this really only means more expensive drinks, and more expensive parking.
Oh and BTW, Gargamel! is an awesome band name. The villain from the Smurfs? Brilliant! It suits the band too! To those of you supporting this show- kudos! Those of you wasting your time badmouthing it are just lame.
