THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA's 'Roots' On Track to Sell 25-30K Copies First Week - May 6, 2009

According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, "With Roots Above and Branches Below" — the new album from the Dayton, Ohio Christian metalcore band THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA — is on track to move between 25,000 and 30,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

"With Roots Above and Branches Below" was released yesterday (Tuesday, May 5) via Ferret Music.

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA has been riding high over the last couple of years with the band's most recent album, "Plagues" (Rise Records, 2007), which was reissued in late 2008 in a "deluxe" version featuring a DVD with two hours of footage shot during the band's 2008 spring tour and the Warped Tour.

Capital Chaos has uploaded video footage (see below) of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA performing on April 19, 2009 at Club Retro in Orangevale, California. Also on the bill were A DAY TO REMEMBER, EMAROSA and SKY EATS AIRPLANE.

	I Hate Buffering, Big Wiggly Style, Ben Has A Kid, and Lord Xenu? I'm not sure if they're just trying to be relevant and current, or if they're just a joke band. Either way, it's a crime if they outsell the new Heaven and Hell album.

	I see this band's name periodically on here, but I didn't know they were THAT popular. Every time I see sales figures, I always think about how poorly Sepultura's newest one did. What was it... 1,600 for the first week? A shame for such a legendary name, regardless of one's opinions.

	doesn't sound any better or worse to me than a lot of others that have gained/are gaining notoriety. It's fine if you're not into something, but it doesn't disqualify other people from diggin' it. Popular things, whether you like them or not, are always popular for a reason.

	I had the misfortune of seeing this shit band back in 07 on the sounds of the underground tour. They are really gay.
