SEPULTURA And ANGRA Perform LED ZEPPELIN Classic On Brazilian TV; Video Available - May 17, 2009
Brazilian metal bands SEPULTURA and ANGRA were the featured guests last night (Saturday, May 16) on "Altas Horas", one of the biggest shows on Brazilian television. They took part in an interview and a performance, including a rendition of the LED ZEPPELIN classic "Immigrant Song", featuring musicians from both bands.

Watch video footage of their appearance below.

ANGRA ended its two-year hiatus by teaming up with metallers SEPULTURA for a massive tour of Brazil and the rest of Latin America. The trek, which kicked off on May 5 in Porto Alegre, included a May 9, 2009 stop at Via Funchal in São Paulo where the two bands joined forces on stage to play "Immigrant Song".

ANGRA's current touring lineup includes returning drummer Ricardo Confessori, who has stepped in for the departed Aquiles Priester.

ANGRA's most recent CD, "Aurora Consurgens", was mixed in 2006 at the House Of Audio studios in Germany under the guidance of longtime producer Dennis Ward. All the tracking took place at the Via Musique Estúdios, in São Paulo with Thiago Bianchi as the assistant producer. Dennis then flew back to Germany and mixed the material, which was mastered by the renowned Finnish producer Mika Jussila.

"A-Lex"SEPULTURA's first LP to be recorded without either of the founding Cavalera brothers (Max and Igor; on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively) — is available in three versions: in a deluxe digipak with an embossed cover, in a regular jewel case and on a vinyl gatefold LP.

On "A-Lex", SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser and his three colleagues, Derrick Green (vocals), Paulo Jr. (bass) and new addition Jean Dollabella (drums), have dedicated themselves to Anthony Burgess's book "A Clockwork Orange", creating an awesome thrash metal opus around this timeless and exciting subject.

That is just as bad as Max's cover of Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People" with Soulfly. Let's just say that no matter how good a band is (or was), there's always going to be songs and artists that they just shouldn't try to cover, no matter how stoned/drunk/buzzed/batshit-crazy they might be at that particular moment. What I just heard is eloquent proof of that.

when Sep and Angra performed on stage together at some place in Brazil (Bmouth posted this earlier this month). Here it's just shit.

The TV program is just as responsible for this shit. It's not like bands come knocking on their door for this.

They happened to do a cover, big deal, everybody do covers.
Get over it, lolitas.

I so like Andrea's guitar tone, A-Lex was killer.

This version was ok: Nothing groundbreaking or anything, but far from crap.
And Soulfly's cover of The Beautiful People is killer and simply crushes the original, I don't know what's wrong with your ears.
