IAN GILLAN Guests On BRUCE DICKINSON's Radio Show; Audio Available - May 22, 2009
DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan was IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson's guest earlier tonight (Friday, May 22) during Bruce's weekly BBC 6 Music radio program, dubbed "The Bruce Dickinson Friday Rock Show". The show is now available for streaming at BBC.co.uk.

For the first time in 40 years, Gillan recently performed session versions of DEEP PURPLE's classic tracks as well as songs from his new solo album, "One Eye To Morocco", on U.K.'s Absolute Radio.

Footage of the performance can be viewed below.

Gillan was interviewed for a recent "The Metal File" podcast from Montreal's CHOM-FM. You can stream the show online at this location.
"One Eye To Morocco" entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 97. The CD was released on March 31 in North America via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

In Europe, "One Eye To Morocco" is available in the following formats: standard CD, limited-edition CD (details to be announced), 2CD (standard CD + CD single) and 2LP set.

Produced and recorded in Canada with maestro Nick Blagona, the music was written by Ian Gillan together with longtime collaborator Steve Morris, as well as Michael Lee Jackson and Rodney Appleby — who both performed on the "Gillan's Inn" U.S. tour, as featured on the double album/DVD "Live in Anaheim" (released through Edel Entertainment).

I agree- Born Again is one of Gillan's best work. If you do some searching on the 'net, you can find an unmixed (or maybe pre-mixed is more like it) version of Born Again, which sounds MUCH better than the one that was released. It also contains an extra track which wasn't used. Search it out, it's worth the download.
