SCOTT WEILAND's Estranged Wife To Publish Memoir In October - May 30, 2009
Mary Weiland, the estranged wife of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/ex-VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland, will publish her memoir, "Fall to Pieces", on October 27, 2009 via William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. A description of the book reads as follows:

"A visceral, rollercoaster ride inside bipolar disorder, rock 'n' roll, celebrity culture, and the competitive world of modeling from a rock star wife and recovering drug addict

"On the surface, Mary Weiland had a fairy-tale life. She was a highly paid fashion model married to successful rock star Scott Weiland, the notorious frontman for STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and VELVET REVOLVER. Then came the rampage in a Burbank hotel room and the resulting media frenzy that revealed to the world her bipolar disorder and drug abuse.

"In 'Fall to Pieces', Weiland describes the extreme highs and lows of her life, the volatility of which long hinted at mental illness. Working with acclaimed journalist Larkin Warren, Weiland tells her story with refreshing candor, unflinching detail, and more than a little humor. Reminiscent of celebrity memoirs by Tatum O'Neill, Brooke Shields, and Valerie Bertinelli, Weiland's story offers a window into the world of modeling and rock 'n' roll celebrity while providing deep insights into a serious and misunderstood psychological disorder."

Scott Weiland aside, who cares enough to buy this? This seems like a cash grab when people probably aren't even interested?

Scott is a great musician and probably a better one then Layne was, bot im a great fan of both of them. Cantrell wrote most of the stuff for AIC, but Laynes voice gave it a very special sound. but Weiland has proven with his solo albums that he's not afraid to try new things and be as far from commercial as possible, he could have gone the easy way and just made a simple rock album but instead he makes two very diffent albums then his bands are making so he gets a lots of credit in my book. but i would have love it if Layne would still be alive and in good health, but still if he hadnt been an heroin addict then maybe we would have the great music we have from him.

COMMENT | Catchy title there,Mary.Ya think that one up by yourself?

For Christ's fcking sake.Is this piece of verbal vomit really necessary?

Let's see:
Scott's a junkie. Check.Got it.

Someone in that realtionship was mentally ill. Oooohkay.

You guys went mental on each OTHER in a hotel room.WOW.That's news.

Big fat mess ensues and she cashes in on a book deal named after a song she didn't write and sung by a band I bet she lambasts the fuck out of in this book.

That's it.I don't need to read it.I think I just covered the Cliff Notes.

fucking mousepad.

anyway, I'm actually interested. Dunno if i'm actually gonna invest in it, in fact I doubt it, but I like Scott Weiland enough to want to buy this. Besides, some of my favorite songs from Scott is written from personal stuff, like everything on Shangri-La Dee Da album. I wouldn't mind getting to know the man a little more through sometihng like this.

Is woman died and they were total soul mates. Losing the only person you have ever truly loved would kill a lot of people. The drugs just hid the pain.

Look, I'll save you the time and trouble of reading the book. Here it is in my cliff notes version.

"...he was so sweet and swept me off my feet..... but then, his substance abuse would rear it's ugly head and it was a total nightmare...I lived in fear.... not knowing which Scott would come home, the sweet caring Scott I fell in love with, or the crazed lunatic high on who knows what....
I'm such a victim.....I had no idea he was an addicted rock star capable of terrible mood swings, personality disorders, and violent outbursts...
boo F-ing hoo.....

Layne's my favorite but scott's surviving and that's a big deal to me. And I've been fan of both for years and they are both major influences on me.

There someone had to praise both at once.

strange how dicks like Weiland and Nikki Six keep living and greats like Layne Staley pass on. The facts are the first two guys are not good enough to die. Only the true greats die young not the wanna b's.

Anyone can pay for a set of head shots and call herself a model. Highly paid? I doubt it. And notice it says "estranged," not "divorced." I'm getting dizzy from the scent of bullshit ...

Layne's dead fuckhead. Also, Layne has nothing to do with this story. Take your stupidity elsewhere.

I for one think she is beautiful, the lifestyle is fascinating to me and I will buy the book. Tough to lose your soul mate to addiction. I lost mine after 20 years. No one understands addiction or mental illness unless it touches your life.
