Former GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist IZZY STRADLIN To Guest On SLASH's Solo Album - June 1, 2009
Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Izzy Stradlin will make a guest appearance on the debut solo album from fellow ex-GN'R axeman Slash.

Writing to his Twitter account, Slash says, "Izzy is down here putting some rhythm guitar on a track; sounds fucking cool."

Slash is recording his solo CD with former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese and ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney. Confirmed guest singers so far include Ozzy Osbourne and AVENGED SEVENFOLD's M. Shadows.

In a May 29 MySpace post, Slash stated about his solo album, "We're almost done with vocals — two more songs left and a couple of odds and ends. Then, I can stand back and see what we've got. It is a fucking awesome ensemble, that much I do know, with brilliant performances from each and every singer. I do hope to have a release date soon, but I can assure you, as I said before, it won't be this year. It will, most definitely, be out be very early in the New Year.

"Even though the recording process is almost done, the legal logistics involved with so many different artists takes a minute to iron out."

Slash will be joined by BLACK SABBATH legend Ozzy Osbourne, THE ROLLING STONES guitarist Ron Wood and LED ZEPPELIN drummer Jason Bonham — son of the late John Bonham, the band's original drummer — for the axeman's headlining appearance at this year's edition of the Quart festival, set to take place June 30 - July 4, 2009 in Kristiansand, Norway. Slash will perform a mixture of old and new material on the festival's opening day.

Slash previously played with Ozzy at the 77th Royal Variety Performance in November 2005 in Cardiff. They performed a version of THE BEATLES classic "In My Life", with family photographs projected onto the background of the stage.

Slash left GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'90s, forming SLASH'S SNAKEPIT before later assembling VELVET REVOLVER with several other ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland.

VELVET REVOLVER is currently searching for a replacement for Weiland, who was dismissed in April 2008.

hope Izzy would have also done vocals on slash's new album. Seriously Izzy left VR at the early stages cos he wanted to sing but Slash wanted somebody else, a front man who would just be bouncing around.

Slash needs to seriously look into hiring Sebastian Bach for VR. And Slash needs to go and sort his shit out with Axl.

oh yeah and Adler rocks\m/

Even with all the bad blood between them, Slash should invite Axl in to do a song. At least open the door to him and see what happens. It's easy for both sides to sling shit at each other but when one side stops and puts his hand out too you it really makes you stop and think. Either its an easy way to put things in the past or your now standing there looking like the a-hole. Life is too short to hold grudges until your in the grave.

Izzy is great should be a good track
btw SkyLoLow Slash has said nothing but good things about Axl recently but Axl still talks shit about Slash in the press. It's a shame considering how many ppl would like to hear those two playing together again.
