Interesting that you prefer Mustaine's vocals. I've never cared for his vocals. Actually, that's the main reason I cannot listen to Megadeth. It's odd that you'd ask why Hetfield is on the list. He's gonna make every list simply because of Metallica's overwhelming historical relevance.

Historical relevance aside, I just don't think he's that good of a singer. I actually think he sounded better in the 90's, you heard a totally different side of his voice that you never heard before. I just love Mustaine because nobody else sounds like him, plus he's playing all those crazy guitar riffs and singing at the same time.

When I think of great thrash metal vocalists - Mustaine, Chuck Billy, and Joey Belladonna are guys that I would put over Hetfield. Even Tom Araya, have you heard that scream at the beginning of Angel of Death, MAN!

I liked him in the 90s too. He had such force and power, or maybe passion powering his vocals. I can't believe Tom Araya didn't make the list. That's insane. Otherwise my only real changes would have been to knock Ozzy out of the top five, and add Gillan and Tate to the top ten. And get that Paul Di'Anno out of there. Guy can't even sing anymore.

i have had numerous, heated and drunken debates about who is better bruce or ron... ive always gone with bruce just for how much bigger maiden is and how much more i like them over anything else dio has done. both are amazing vocalist but bruce has more rnage and power, dare i say a more traditionaly metal voice where as ronnie has always sounded to me like a classic or standard singer with a metal band backing him and lyrics about fucking hairy trolls and 3 titted demons from the 2nd circle.

but when it comes right down to it, no pun intended, i think anselmo is hands down the best metal vocalist, of all time. if for other reason that just being astounded by his range... to know that one preson sung the vocals on.. Pantera's hollow, planet caravan and sandlasted skin, then add to that any of downs ballads, like "where im going" or "jail" or any of their catalogue really.. then to follow that up with superjoint and songs like everyone hates everyone and haunted hated... thats shit just blows the mind how one set of pipes can do all that...

To all that say Hetfield is a better vocalist than Mustaine... I respectfully disagree... Hetfield tends to sound like too much of a douche in his vocal delivery for me to ever really fully enjoy it. Mustaine sounds a hell of a lot more honest with his delivery, and the general tone of his voice doesn't scratch away at my ears like nails on a chalkboard like Hetfield's tends to.

How can you have a list like this and not mention James Rivera on it? He's one of the all time greats. Hail Helstar!!!!!!!!!!

Halford (duh!) & Dio are the two best metal singers of all time. Halford being number 1 of course.

Agree on the 3 first ones for sure. The favourite rest of the list? These ones: of course my subjective opinion.

4. Eric Adams.
5. Klaus Meine. His voice is still in top form.
6. Bon Scott. His charisma and evil smile will be unequalled.
7. Jeff Keith from Tesla. I am amazed he is not on the above list.
8. King Diamond. The atmospheres he creates are astounding.
9. Udo Dirkschneider. The voice of Accept.
10. Michael Kiske.
11. Hetfield. I won´t forgive the 90´s albums and the one of 2003.

Tha´t´s all folks.

Pavarotti said Rob Halford was the most amazing singer he's EVER heard. No doubt he's not what he's used to be, but he's still excellent. It's amazing that the top three haven't turned their vocal chords into hamburger by now.

Ireally do feel that Bruce's vocals are the BEST. He can scream and keep it so clean...no raspyness...just...BLISS...
BRUCE RULES!!!
