TRENT REZNOR Slams 'Dopey Clown' MARILYN MANSON

According to Spinner.com, NINE INCH NAILS mastermind Trent Reznor has slammed one-time protégé, Marilyn Manson, in a new interview with U.K.'s Mojo magazine, calling the shock-rocker "a malicious guy and will step on anybody's face to succeed and cross any line of decency." Reznor added, "Seeing him now, drugs and alcohol now rule his life and he's become a dopey clown. He used to be the smartest guy in the room. And as a fan of his talents, I hope he gets his shit together." Trent continued, "During the [ 'Downward Spiral' tour in '94 and '95] we propped them up to get our audience turned on to them and at that time a lot of the people in my circle were pretty far down the road as alcoholics. Not Manson. His drive for success and self-preservation was so high, he pretended to be fucked up a lot when he wasn't." "Things got shitty between us and I'm not blameless," Reznor admitted. "The majority of it though was coming from a resentment guy who finally got out from under the master's umbrella and was able to stab him in the back."

Thought you guys had made up and were cool again... I guess since Trent has sobered up all of his druggy friends aren't cool anymore (makes sense to me) but I am sure there is quite a bit of truth to his comments. I also don't think Manson does half the drugs he used to anymore if he ever even does anything but drink anymore. Funny comment coming from Trent who while producing "Antichrist Superstar" everyone was using drugs heavily all the time. I guess he himself was a "dopey clown" back then but that album and "Downward Spiral" sure made him some money.

They were friends, then they weren't, then they were again, now they are not again. Whatever, Trent seems to not get along with a lot of people. Trent has more personal feuds with other (famous) people than Manson does. But Manson is definitely an alcoholic, he drinks Absinthe every day. But Trent's comments aren't talking too much shit (compared to things Trent has said about others):

You just described exactly what Trent has been up to lately. I agree completely, anyone can have an opinion, but Trent, if his "opinion" consists of blasting a fellow artist in a public forum, where, as roachville said, he knows it's going to be read by thousands of people, is completely without merit.
