DAATH Cancels European Summer Festival Appearances - June 2, 2009
Atlanta-based quintet DAATH has been forced to cancel its previously announced summer festival appearances.

Commented guitarist Eyal Levi: "These fests were booked so far apart with no gigs in between that there was no way we could financially afford to stay in Europe all that time without resorting to either begging for change or selling our bodies in the red-light districts. While we'd love to take part in the latter, none of us are attractive enough to compete with the working girls and therefore we apologize to all the festival organizers, booking agents, and most importantly fans for this. Cancelling is something we hate to do. However much this sucks, a much more realistic European venture has come our way in the form of the CHIMAIRA / UNEARTH / THROWDOWN tour which will hit almost all of Europe in September and October! We're looking forward to touring with some of the best bands metal has to offer as well as sharing the road with our brothers in UNEARTH yet again! See you guys there!"

"The Concealers", the sophomore album from DAATH, sold around 1,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 35 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"The Concealers" was released on April 20 in Europe and April 21 in the U.S. through Century Media Records (via a partnership with Roadrunner Records). The album was produced and mixed by Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis (TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, DEVILDRIVER).

DAATH filmed a video for "Day Of Endless Light" in March in the band's hometown with director Robin Fuller (GHOST OF A THOUSAND, SHAPED BY FATE).

Hopefully they make enough money so they don't have to cancel shows in the future. Anyways the new album is amazing but really hard to compare to The Hinderers because they are two very different albums with different singers. I can't wait until July 30th when the play with Goatwhore. If you listen to all three of their albums, you'll see how much they've evolved.

I'm from Snellville, but it's only 18 miles east of Atlanta. Close enough. Daath are great. Cool guys. I was disappointed when their first vocalist quit, but I've not yet heard the new album. I'll make that judgment after listening to the whole thing.

You won't be disappointed. The new album's amazing. The new vocalist fits them a bit better I think.

Got to hang out with those guys when they rolled through Cincinnati up here. Took a guitar lesson from Emil, super cool guy.

DAATH really are an incredible group. The new album is a masterpiece. Unless something else trumps it later this year, it's my album of '09.

It weird I try and get inot these guys but I just find it hard to. The playing seems good i am jut not sure about the song writing. hey thats why they make chocolate and vanilla I guess.
Also I think Talley is a decent drummer and his stuff with Chimaira has actually grown on me.
However, every live video I see of this guy he is just bashing and smashing. Thats cool and all but watching him is like watching an epileptic on acid just straigh up awkward and painful.
He plays with zero feeling.
Meh.......... either way he is going to regret his lack of technique later in life when he cant feel his forearms and hands from the carple tunnel.

Bash away bashy boy!

seriously? what a dumbass comment.

if theres one thing talley has its technique. you are SUPPOSED to bash the drums. its metal. what those drummers who just tap on the kit and let their drum triggers do all the work are doing is bad technique and weak ass cheating. talley used all the real/natural sounds from his kit for the new album...you know why? because he can actually play that shit. he doesnt have to tap his way through and let the computer make his shit sound real.

you are an idiot.
