CLUTCH: Behind-The-Scenes Footage From New Album Recording Sessions Available - June 8, 2009
A new widget featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions for CLUTCH's ninth studio album, titled "Strange Cousins From the West", is available at this location.

"Strange Cousins From the West" will be available both digitally and through retail on July 7. Produced by CLUTCH and J. Robbins at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore, the effort is the first CLUTCH studio LP to be released on the band's own Weathermaker Music, through RED Distribution. The "50,000 Unstoppable Watts" video will be officially released prior to Memorial Day weekend.

"Strange Cousins From the West" includes the POPPO'S BLUES BAND cover song "Algo Ha Cambiado", which CLUTCH vocalist Neil Fallon sings in Spanish. Poppo was a legendary Argentinian hard rock singer/guitarist throughout the '70s and '80s.

The title "Strange Cousins From the West" was taken from a line in the song "Minotaur".

Although CLUTCH has toured the world extensively over the past two years and released multiple CLUTCH-related projects, "Strange Cousins..." is the band's first original studio work since 2007's "From Beale Street to Oblivion" which featured the hit "Electric Worry".

"Strange Cousins From the West" track listing:

01. Motherless Child
02. Struck Down
03. 50,000 Unstoppable Watts
04. Abraham Lincoln
05. Minotaur
06. The Amazing Kreskin
07. Witchdoctor
08. Let a Poor Man Be
09. Freakonomics
10. Algo Ha Cambiado
11. Sleestak Lightning

CLUTCH has launched a seven-month worldwide headlining tour beginning with a U.S. run with support acts WINO and MAYLENE & THE SONS OF DISASTER, followed by a July U.S. trek with BARONESS as main support. Look for the band to appear on some popular music and art festivals, including Austin City Limits later this fall, U.K.'s mammoth Download festival on June 14 and more to be announced.

Clutch is one of the most solid bands still out there these days. Each new album is just a mass of good music, they are one of a few bands that I don't have to here a single track, just tell me when the album drops and I'll buy it. Plus there GREAT live.

Name a band going these days that no one is going to trash, and that always delivers. Clutch is one of the few.

eee yeeeaah, CLUTCH are one of the few bands that actually have a "coolness" factor instead of being a bunch of trendy wannabe posers

COMMENT | Clutch is one of those bands that I think of

when I see some crap like Creed making it big and I think, "how can a shit band with one hook, be bigger than true innovators and great musicians like Clutch?" They've been rock solid- on record and on stage- for almost two decades now.

If there is a band that needs to break big, it's Clutch.

Well, Strange Cousins isn't much of a departure from Beale Street, unfortunately, but that being said, Abraham Lincoln is infectious!

Damn straight pickletits, the masses can't handle the mighty Clutch, but we can still hope.

I can't WAIT for this cd, a great band that I can share with my boys, they'll be memorizing the words soon enough - bring on the summer and CLUTCH!!!
