GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal will be doing shows over the summer with Lita Ford, playing guitar with Lita's backing group alongside BUMBLEFOOT (the band) drummer Dennis Leeflang.
Says Thal: "Lita and I have GN'R's blessings to do this together; all is cool. This won't interfere with upcoming GN'R plans, I'll be flying out and coming right back."

Lita Ford will release "Wicked Wonderland", her first new U.S. studio album in 14 years, early this fall on her own JLRG Entertainment label. After a 15-year break from music, living on an island in the Caribbean raising her two sons, Lita will also hit the road this summer playing select festivals and motorcycle rallies in America and Europe.
"It's harder and sexier than anything I've ever done," says Lita of the record, which was co-produced by Ford, her husband and former NITRO singer Jim Gillette, and Greg Hampton, the songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer known for his work with ALICE COOPER, his band SCIENCE FAXTION (with Bootsy Collins and Buckethead and Brain from GUNS N' ROSES) and other rock notables. Lita is backed on the record by drummer Stet Howland, formerly of W.A.S.P., Hampton on bass, rhythm guitar and keyboards, Gillette on background vocals, and its vivid cover art is by ROB ZOMBIE bassist and solo artist Piggy D.
The songs brim with a passionate adult eroticism and über-hard rock sound highlighted by Lita's trademark searing guitar riffs. The album includes a keen and timely slice of social commentary on "Patriotic SOB", sexy rave-ups like "Piece (Hell Yeah)", duets with Gillette on numbers like the aptly titled "Indulge", and "Betrayal", which will be featured in the upcoming video game Brütal Legend, in which Lita also voices one of the characters alongside Jack Black, Lemmy Kilmister of MOTÖRHEAD and Rob Halford of JUDAS PRIEST. The recordings find her rocking, playing and singing with an amped-up fury and power like never before that's also informed by her personal growth as a wife and mother as well as legendary rocker.

If even Axl's disowned "Chinese Democracy" and can't be bothered touring to promote it can you blame Bumblefoot for taking Lita Ford's offer?
Hopefully he'll have a band to come back to after the Lita Ford gigs but that's becoming mostly hearsay anymore.

Good for him. Axl will most likely fire him and then re-hire him in 2012 to tour the album.

why doesnt he give up already? he did try touring, it failed. he released the album, it failed. how long is it gonna take for axl to move on already, and realize that gnr is not gnr unless you make peace with your old teamates?

I think he is giving up already! This is his way of calling it a career. He tried the CD, no one cared, tours.
where are all the Axl apologist now. There are like 5 posts on this thread. Had its said "Axl ready to tour, Chin.Dem sells another 500K on strength of new video", they'd all come crawling out yelling "See, Axl knew, Slash is a Cancer, Duff is a Capricorn, GnR rules" etc.
It must be a complete disappointment to his current band, hoping for some payday. Like a contractor, they got some pay for their pay on the album, hoping to get more work, then you end up with Lita Ford. Do you think there's going to be more work for Bumblefoot in GnR? I'm sure Buckethead & a host of others thought the same, but after 5-7 years passes, its like "well, Guess I'll play my guitar again".
On of rock's strangest stories, this Axl, dismantling a Giant Band but with really no game plan, lots of excuses, blame. I won't say he wasn't talented in his prime, but he needed a supporting cast, no one to give him a kick in his solo career. Too much power for a guy that can't handle it. Obviously.

It would clear the way for Robin Finck to return after the NIN tour.
I thought Lita's band was short a guitar player anyway. She's not exactly a total wizard with the axe, especially while singing. I'm not bagging on her, she's competent but having a Bumblefoot around will definitely kick the band up a notch. Bam!
