LINKIN PARK: 'New Divide' Video Released - June 12, 2009
The music video for LINKIN PARK's "New Divide" can be viewed below. The much-buzzed-about companion clip to the band's Alternative Airplay chart-topping single was shot on a soundstage at Paramount Studios in Hollywood with LINKIN PARK DJ/award-winning video director Joe Hahn at the helm.

Hahn has also produced a special four-part series focusing on the making of the music video. The first installment debuted June 5 on MySpace Music; the second was made available June 9 on MTV.com; the third was posted June 10 on Facebook, and the finale premiered June 11 on LPU (lpunderground.com). Those anticipating the June 24 release of director Michael Bay's upcoming summer blockbuster "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" should note that the "New Divide" video features key visual elements from the film.

"New Divide", which LINKIN PARK specifically wrote and recorded for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", has quickly made radio history, becoming the third song ever to debut simultaneously in the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 and Alternative Charts (the other two were COLDPLAY's "Speed of Sound" and LINKIN PARK's own "What I've Done".). In addition to being LINKIN PARK's highest-debuting song ever on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, "New Divide" is the highest-debuting song on Billboard's Alternative Chart in over a year. LINKIN PARK is now one of only five artists in the 20-year history of the Alternative Chart to have three songs debut in the Top 10. The other four bands to accomplish this feat are U2, REM, PEARL JAM and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. "New Divide" is currently No. 1 on the BDS/Billboard Alternative Chart.

Opening in theaters on June 24, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro. LINKIN PARK also contributed to the film's score with award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky and the score's executive producer, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

"New Divide" will also appear on the Reprise Records soundtrack "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Album", which arrives in stores on June 23.

i'm not a linkin park fanatic, but i enjoyed the song and the music video.

I agree with you 1000 times over...BOTH THOSE BANDS SUCK EQUALLY!

Fuck the ladies of Linkin Park. Fuck the drivel that is Slipcunt.
They have each done their part in setting metal back 20 years.

How is it that it started out so well (Sabbath, LedZep), continued to thrive (Preist, Maiden, Pantera), then fucking TANKED (NuMetal)?!?

Must be because kids continued to rehash the simpler parts of the genre, diluting the craft over the years, and stripping the integrity from the art.

Oh yeah, and Billy Bob Thornton's Slingblade character was COMPLETELY copped from the 1960's Hanna Barbera cartoon "Hillbilly Bears." Sorry just found out and wanted to share...

I enjoyed Hybrid Theory and a song or two off Meteora but otherwise didn't really consider myself a Linkin Park fan. Listening to this video, I'd rather this music (pop metal?) be encouraged for the younger generation rather than the teeny bop crap. I actually came back to this page to listen to the song again, guitar and melody were instantly caught in my head.

but they are cool people. I remember reading about them doing different kinds of charity work and even helping to build some houses in New Orleans themselves.

Typical Linkin Park song... tolerable on the first or second listen and then incredibly annoying after that. None of these shitty radio bands have any staying power and no one will be listening to them 10 or 20 years from now.

i won't stoop to your tragic level. you must be like 14 or something. the only thing you 've had sex with must be your hairy palm.

linkin park is just very poor and very generic... i 'd find it terribly difficult to even call it rock... it's music for hamburger joints....

also do you tie that 25 milliliter monster round your neck like a tie or (k)not ? Haha !

No you idiot, I'm a 20 year old Linkin Park haters fucker!!! For hamburger joints are the shits YOU hear!!! HAHA!!! When I need a palm don't worry, I'll ask yours, you're an expert at this stuff!!! Linkin Park are one of the greatest fucking rock groups in the whole world, GOT THAT? The fact that you can't call them rock, it's not a problem (you have stuff in your mouth, I know...., and it's NOT hamburger...). And if you don't like LP why you come and write here bitch???? They make their music and their videos by themselves, they have meaning at their lyrics, their music is AWESOME and very melodic at some songs and generally LP ROCKS!!!! What the hell are you, a popper? Or a DEATH METALIST???? HAHAHA!!!!! I break your face down with only ONE fist!!!!

ohh you think now you're still be a fan of slipknot or Korn or some nu-metal shit like that?? I mean, i love their music and always enjoy listening to (some of their song). but their albums are just the same, from the very first album until now, they sound good but all their songs are the same types, same words..it makes me so sick if i have to listen to their whole albums...like they'll never change. i like LP a lot more 'cause now they've grown up, their music should be grown up too. i agree if this song a little bit gay or mushy or sth...but Lp created it for the movie and it has to be fit with the movie.and if u think Minutes to midnight is a bunch of shit then you're so wrong...whatever we'll see how LP does with the next album.
