ACE FREHLEY Completes Work On 'Anomaly'; Final Track Listing Revealed

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has completed work on his new solo album, "Anomaly". The CD was produced and recorded in Westchester County, New York between 2007 and 2009 and was mixed in Los Angeles by Marti Frederiksen, who has previously worked with AEROSMITH and DEF LEPPARD, among many others. Commented Frehley: "Mixed, mastered... done!!!!! It clocks in as one full hour of new music... I'm waiting for my distribution company to get me solid release dates that we can decide on. I want 'Anomaly' to be available to you in every store around the world that sells CDs these days (and that number is shrinking). Ace says, "I've been tweaking the solo and this is pretty close to what you'll hear on the [upcoming Frehley solo] album." In an early 2008 interview with Billboard, Frehley stated about the CD, "Basically, I'm trying to get back into the mindset I was in when I did my first solo record [1978's 'Ace Frehley']. That record seemed to have all the elements everybody liked — a real cool instrumental, a hit single, some real heavy rockers, a nice variety of different genres of music." Among his favorite new tracks are "A Little Below The Angels", hard-rocking "Pain In The Neck" and an instrumental called "Fractured Quantum", which is a follow-up to his previous instrumentals "Fractured Mirror" and "Fractured Too". Another favorite is "groove song" titled "Genghis Khan", which he likens in tone to LED ZEPPELIN's "Kashmir". Frehley last year spent time on the road fronting a band that featured second guitarist Derrek Hawkins, drummer Scot Coogan (ex- BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION) and bassist Anthony Esposito (ex- LYNCH MOB).

A huge ACE fan, I've been critical when he sucked like in the last couple KISS tours - But I've seen him BLAZING since then in his solo gigs, and I have high hopes for this album. No question, Anomaly will be light years better than anything the fake "Kiss" will barf out this year.

Will be pleasantly surprised if the album's good - can't be worse than the cover - but mainly hoping for more shows as fantastic as last year's... Waited 25 years to hear Hard Times live (don't worry, I was doing other stuff in the meantime) and it was as amazing as I'd hoped.

I thought this was done months ago! The fucking track listing has been floating around for about two years and he's been on the verge of finishing this record since before the fucking KISS reunion!
Come on - even Axl Rose is laughing at this point. Does it take THAT long to bang out 13 3-chord pop tunes with penatonic solos?

OK Ace. You say that the number of brick and mortar stores are shrinking, yet you're releasing an iTunes only exclusive song. Try doing it the other fucking way around and maybe it'll help bring up sales, bring people to the stores and keep that "shrinking" number from shrinking any further. don't demand that phonykiss play your town...DEMAND that the new diet kiss cd be released with a NON-makeup cover...perhaps gene and paul can wear makeup, and the two fakes can hold a mask of Ace and peter...OTHERWISE...FUCK PHAKE kiss's new stoopidio album, and buy more Frehley, as this will be the REAL kiss sound this year...i don't hate singer and thayer, HOWEVER, i have NO use for scabs dressed as exited members. Carr and Kulick would be HATED today if they had been forced to act and pretend to be Criss and Frehley, as these two new impersonators are.
PHAKE kiss is the biggest mistake they ever did. also, i believe that the new kiss cd will lose sales regardless of the music, BECAUSE of the polarization it has caused amongst the fans, as we have already had CREATURES with Ace on the cover and he wasn't on it. same with this new shite they try to push on us. I don't really care if criss or frehley are gone, but i DO care as to who is wearing what. I do not support little-phake-diet-scabby-kiss-lite. which is what they have been since 2002
...Anomaly will sound like real kiss and good memories, the new phake kiss if done impersonating ace and peter, will fail because the WHOLE music industry knows this is a scam, except for the 50,000 new fans under age of 12 who can't tell the difference between a band and a pathetic half tribute joke...and i've been a fan since '76...if anyone has the right to bash and hate phake kiss it's fans like me and the loud other fans on here who feel that dressing up other people as previous members is enough to tell simminz and stinkley to SHOVE IT.

As much as I love Ace from growing up with him as a member of KISS, I also know he cant stop himself from drinking and partying. He didnt play on half the KISS records for reasons we all know about. I bought his first solo and thought it sucked, and I dont doubt so will this one. Good luck Ace. As for the KISS haters, are all the other bands out there that have new members in there bands "Fakes" too? Or is that aimed at KISS only because their members have "persona's" on stage? I say give me a break, this lineup of KISS rocks and the new KISS album will rock!

From reading the comments, obviously much controversy back and forth....don't know what will wind up happening, but as a fan that has been around through the ups and downs of Kiss, I think that it will be a good year for the fans....Kiss will rock and so will Ace! Kiss has no choice and this is when they rock, just like they did with Creatures/Lick it Up/Animalize when they dealt with the loss of Ace/Makeup/Vinnie.....They've been around almost 40 years, through it all, regardless of the fads and still destroy most bands live!! Ace is my favorite and I'm psyched to hear Fractured Quantum and the rest of it, hopefully followed by another tour. The last was Pure Rock and Roll, Loud Guitars and just RAW! He was/is one of a kind and if you missed him, go see him, you won't be disappointed. Btw, Ace has stated recently that he would join them to close it out the right way, the 4 originals one last time, so hey, there may be more coming up ahead......History has a way of repeating itself, even the mistakes

It might suck, it might not. Who cares? At least he's out on the road and making new music. Unlike Imposter Ki$$ who plays the same tired old set list, opens for Aerosmith, and now plays state fairs and driving ranges. Ace is an original, not a fake. Anyone can play music someone else wrote.

It's mediocre at best. Like all his work, some songs are great, some suck, the rest are ok. The die hards and a few others will buy it. Ace doesn't have the PR to bring in many new fans, and KISS' new cd will overshadow Ace's, unfortunately it won't help his sales and Ace just won't get the national airplay. I also don't predict much of an increase in concert attendance if he plays bars and small clubs again this tour.
But, I give the guy credit for finally getting the cd out, even if it did take over 20 years. I think the cd cover was created 20 years ago, at least it looks it.
