PAUL DI'ANNO Selects SCELERATA As Backing Band For Brazilian Shows - June 16, 2009
Brazilian metallers SCELERATA (pictured below) have been chosen by former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno to be his backing band on his upcoming tour of Brazil. SCELERATA will also provide support at all the gigs, with Dan Rubin handling the vocals.

Confirmed dates are as follows:

July 03 - Opera 1 - Curitiba, Brazil
July 04 - Criciúma - Criciúma, Brazil
July 05 - Big Bowling - Joinville, Brazil
July 10 - 540 Club - Passo Fundo, Brazil
July 11 - venue tba - Frederico Westphalen, Brazil
July 12 - Manara - Porto Alegre, Brazil
July 16 - Vila Dionisio - Ribeirão Preto, Brazil
July 17 - Vila Dionisio - São José do Rio Preto, Brazil
July 18 - Manifesto - São Paulo, Brazil
July 19 - Space Rock - Santos, Brazil

Fan-filmed video footage of Paul Di'Anno's May 11, 2009 concert in Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina can be viewed below.

As previously reported, Di'Anno took part in a press conference last month during his two-week solo tour of Argentina. When asked about the rumors that his drug use had something to do with his split with IRON MAIDEN, Di'Anno responded, "Where the fuck do you people get this from? I left IRON MAIDEN because they were going too heavy metal, and IRON MAIDEN is a money-making machine, and I don't give a fuck about it. It was not about drugs; it was nothing like that. Me and [MAIDEN bassist] Steve [Harris]... I [wrote] the song 'Killers', Steve had [what he thought] were better songs. I thought his songs were shit. Nothing to do with drugs; nothing whatsoever. Check your facts or otherwise this interview is over... I hate that! I fucking hate that! Because people... You say something but you don't know. Well, I'm telling you. IRON MAIDEN is Steve Harris' band. It doesn't matter about anybody else — whether it's Dave Murray, Clive [Burr], me... it's Steve Harris' band and all it is is money, money, money, money — nobody else counts. And I wrote fuckin' 20-times better songs than his, but I only got one song on the 'Killers' album because it's Steve's — he must have this. Fuckin' Adolf Hitler. I'm not interested. So there you go. But you need to take drugs when you're with IRON MAIDEN because they're so fucking boring. And the only drugs were aspirin, because Steve [making hand gesture as if someone is speaking into his ear]... Fuckin' headache."

One thing he should consider! Iron Maiden fans are about the only people that have any intrest in what he is up to. Bashing them might be a little counter productive. And dont you think someone who makes music that is 20 times better than Iron Maiden would have gone somewhere in all this time. I think he would be better off know as the guy with the drinking problem.

Paul will ALWAYS be the all-time best Maiden singer and Bruce can't EVER hold a candle to the first 2 Maiden Albums!!

Silly boy! I suppose you also start debates at parties about how home churned ice cream and butter is so superior to the crap in supermarkets! Son, you should consider joining an amish community where everything archaic is better . Paul was a suitable singer for a young band but far too unrefined and untalented to take an act to the worldwide stage ..even he knows it...that is the sad reason why he is so bitter.... he could spend all this energy going to university and getting voice lessons and better himself if it bothers him so much....
Up The Irons!
Up Bruce!

Dianno is great singer, songwriter and frontman. PROBLEM is that everybody want him only to sing the same old Maiden tunes. His solo stuff is incredible!!!

hail DIANNO

Sounds like a bitter old has-been to me. Or more like a never-was. Maiden moved on, get over it and get a life, you tired old alky. Better yet, pull a Bon Scott and get it over with so we don't have to watch you bitch and whine your way slowly into oblivion.

"PROBLEM is that everybody want him only to sing the same old Maiden tunes. His solo stuff is incredible!!!"

er..no. majority want him to STOP playing Maiden music and use his own material live..hence why he wont just use just his own material, because he wouldnt pull in a crowd(even if it is a crowd of 50). if his solo stuff was incredible..then he himself, the fat bald c*nt, would use his solo stuff and not Maiden material aswell, correct?

think about it. work it out.

yup, those superior songs were pouring out on all your post-Maiden projects! I'll give him credit for a few cool Battlezone songs, but Killers? Best song was a cover- "Faith Healer". I agree with a post to the earlier thread- this sounds like a Scarface-styled drug-addled outburst.
