16 People Arrested At AEROSMITH's Mansfield Concert - June 18, 2009
Maureen Boyle of The Enterprise reports that 16 people were arrested at the AEROSMITH concert at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday, June 16, most on alcohol-related charges.

"That is not even counting the ones that just go to first aid," Police Chief Arthur O'Neill said.

Now, the chief said, the police department won't agree to any of the charges being dismissed unless those arrested say where they got the booze.

"We will not agree to any disposition short of a guilty if they won't say where they got it," O'Neill said.
The chief said the number of drunken and disruptive concert goers appears to be increasing — and the ages decreasing.

"It is just a continuing trend that we have had for five years now," O'Neill said.

"Particularly with the girls, in the last five years, the girls have just gotten out of control," he added.

Those arrested — some as young as 15 — came from throughout the Massachusetts and some from New Hampshire.

"They all did something to draw attention to themselves," O'Neill said.

He said the number of people arrested represents just a fraction of those intoxicated at the concerts.

"I'm not going to fool myself, this is just the tip of the iceberg," O'Neill said.

"That is not even counting the ones that just go to first aid," Police Chief Arthur O'Neill said.

Might sound stupid, but does that mean you would get arrested in the US if you ask the paramedics for a patch and appear to be drunk at the same time?!

If the cops in Wacken would act like that they would have to ship the criminals 150 miles to Hamburg to find enough space to detain them all. Possibly half the festival ground would be empty then. Excellent idea - if you knew it before and don't get drunk as the other 80.000...

rock audiences are so tame now, it was bedlam 25-30 years ago at shows. No security, TONS of drinking & drugs. you can't even pass a J at shows today...some of the restrictions are good, keeps things safe, but it makes for a sterile environment.

they had to have made a scene... keep the alcohol in the red cups, conceal the cans/bottles and dont act like a lush.

When fucking kids get out of line and start passing out everywhere (acting like fools) the police have to do thier job.

I'm surprised that they do not have to tune down a half/whole step for Steven Tyler to sing this song.
Very impressive for him to sing it natural after all of these years.

So... Can't people consume alcohol at concerts in the US at all? Or are we just talking about minors here? I'm sorry, little confused here.

I hear ya loud & clear, other than a few select shows they chose to turn their heads, security is way too strict. No tailgating at all(though they let the Buffet people go nuts)...no beer in cups, nothing. $9 beers inside.

You ain't kidding. That place is notorious for doucebagery when it comes to parking lot security. The Mansfield cops love it because it gives them something to do since college isn't in during the summer. In all honesty though, once you're inside it's very easy to toke. You just have to stay out of the parking lot cops fiefdom. Then again, this venue gets worse and worse every year and they've actively shrunken the GA section every season in the hopes to discourage this 'type of concert goer' from attending. I remember Ozzfest 98 there were people swinging from the trees and smoking in the bushes by the bathroom on the second stage. Now if you even look at a tree trunk they'll try to throw you out.

I used to live in Mass and i would go to Greatwoods, the Tweeter Center or what the fuck ever it's called now all the time. Cops drive around in there stupid golf carts and undercovers are all over the place. I got so sick of it I just used to park at the priviate lot next to the gate and party all day without worrying

the moral of the story is move out of mass- MA is backwards and uptight.
MA govt is retarded and can't control their budget, so they stick cops on the citizens to concoct shit to fine them for.

They need to charge like $8 for a beer, that will solve the problem. oh wait, they already do...

Nothing ruins my concert experience more than an effin' drunk. I'm fine if the stoners want to get high and take a nap on the lawn. Hope your $50 ticket was well spent.

Don't like getting busted? Don't be a jerkoff and do something stupid.

So true the cops are fucking pricks over there me and my buddies used to be able to tailgate no problem and party the fuck up but now all those cops with the bikes and golfcarts grilling you as they drive by every 2 minutes gets fucking annoying they're just waiting for one wrong move... Other than that once you get inside its alot better.
