BRET MICHAELS: Trauma Caused By TONY AWARDS Incident Continues To Take Its Toll

POISON singer Bret Michaels has been forced to postpone tonight's (Thursday, June 18) solo concert at the Quechan Casino in Winterhaven, California. The new date is Friday, October 16. Bret's representatives said in a statement, "We want everyone to understand that through Bret's 25 year career it has been extraordinarily rare and only under extreme conditions that Mr. Michaels has had to reschedule a performance. He has been shot at, had broken bones, severe lacerations and contusion not to mention crucial high and low blood sugar levels due to his condition as a juvenile diabetic. Yet has always done his best to make his way to the stage. "The trauma caused by the now infamous accident at the Tony Awards continues to take its toll on Mr. Michaels' throat as well as other physical conditions. Along with all the fans, we at Michaels Entertainment wish Bret the best. "Please make no mistakes Bret is excited and will be ready to rock [as soon as possible], and the highly anticipated DEF LEPPARD / POISON / CHEAP TRICK tour will start as planned on the 23rd of June in Camden NJ. All solo shows and appearances throughout the summer and fall are also certain to occur as scheduled." Michaels has told People.com that he has no plans to file a lawsuit over the Tony Awards incident when he got clocked in the head by a descending set piece during his band's performance. "I want to make very clear to everybody that — first and foremost — I was honored to be asked to be at the Tonys," he said. "I'd never done it before and in all my life it's not something I thought I'd be on. I was really excited. There's no lawsuit. I'm not doing any of that. I'm taking the high road."

First of all, I like used to like Bret Michaels. But the last several years, this guy has turned into such a primadonna barbie doll.
Maybe it's just me but this dude (or dudette) has turned into such a fuckin sissy.

I'm not a fan of Poison, never have been but I don't understand why people make fun of this guy...At least he has never claimed to be anything he's not and he's always been authentic to himself and his fans. Fine, don't be a fan of his music, I'm not, but why bash the guy?? Let them be, they have never tried to be anything they're not and I respect that.

the fact that he has diabetes is irrelevent. and some of us have worked with (and for) many rock and roll personalities and have never "wet our pants".
if you can't see the humour in this incident, and you can't see how bret is milking this for a little extra press to prop up his ailing career, then you are as sharp as a marble.
last i checked, this site was dedicated to rock 'n' roll, not taylor swift or lindsay lohan.

Incident from the Tony Awards taking it's toll? You have got to be kidding me right? How bout the fact that Bret is closed to working himself to death by not resting up before the Poison tour starts next week. He hasn't gotten off the road in what seems like atleast two years. I think Brett is as goofy as the next guy but he does deserve some KUDOS. In a world dominated by rap and pop garbage he still waves the rock and roll banner high. He is a 'defender of the faith' so to speak. At least give the guy that much. Like him or hate him but musically he has the same interests at heart as we do...keeping the rock and roll alive...and thats a pretty commendable thing if you ask me

I AINT MAKING FUN ABOUT HIS HEALTH PROBLEMS BUT THE FACT THAT HE'S EVEN GOTTEN SHOT AND HASN´T CANCELLED ANY SHOW, SO, HE DOESN´T LOOK THAT BAD ANYWAY, AND THE BANDANA, HES BEEN WEARING IT FOR LIKE 20 YEARS, I THINK HE'S MADE ENOUGH MONEY TO HAVE SOME HAIR IMPLATED.

Why does everyone make fun of bret Michaels? He might be a pretty boy or seem a little bit self centered, but thats his schtick. Thats what made him famous and he was smart enough to make money off of that. He has to put on a good show for the people that actually were there to see him. So he does. and the people that weren't hate the attitide.
