HATEBREED Signs New Deal With ROADRUNNER RECORDS - June 21, 2009
Connecticut hardcore/metal masters HATEBREED have signed a brand new worldwide deal (outside North America) with Roadrunner Records for the release of the band's next studio album, tentatively due in September/October. According to HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta, the CD will come with a bonus DVD containing footage of the group's performances at the Download (U.K), Wacken Open Air (Germany) and Kobetasonik (Spain) festivals.

A brand new interview with Jasta in which he discusses HATEBREED's new deal with Roadrunner — conducted on June 19 by HardcoreSounds.Net after the band's performance at the Nummirock festival in Kauhajoki, Nummijärvi, Finland — can be viewed below.

Jasta recently told Noisecreep that HATEBREED's new CD is being recorded at Planet Z studios in Hadley, Massachusetts. He said, "We hope to top [2002's] 'Perseverance'," which was the band's most commercially successful CD.

Regarding how the album will sound, Jasta said, "It's definitely hard as hell and there isn't a lot of sludgy doomy stuff from my KINGDOM OF SORROW experience," the vocalist stated, referring to his side project with CROWBAR's Kirk Windstein. "A couple things may be vocally similar, but it's the upbeat, aggressive approach that we always take. Everyone stepped up their game with the covers record and that challenged us to match the intensity and speed, and to do solos. This will be our first record with guitar solos. We're not known for that. Wayne [Lozniak] is a shredder and that will surprise some people but it's not overdone."

The covers album by HATEBREED, entitled "For The Lions", sold around 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 58 on The Billboard 200 chart.

HATEBREED's last collection of new material, "Supremacy", opened with around 27,000 copies back in September 2006 to land at No. 31. This number was roughly in line with the first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "Rise Of Brutality", which shifted more than 32,000 copies back in November 2003 to debut at No. 30.

An e-card for "For The Lions" can be accessed at this location.

Well that whole Koch thing didn't last long, eh? Whatever works for them, hope we get more diversity with the next record though.

It will be great to hear a Hatebreed album with solos on it. I think alot of their stuff sounds the same. Jamey is a great vocalist for what he does and I really liked the Kingdom of Sorrow stuff. He should stop wearing the bandannas, he looks like a chemo patient.

More songs about getting stabbed in the back, sounding more like being stabbed in the butt if you catch my drift.

I feel bad for all the Hatebreed fans that just had to read that headline....... Why? Cause Roadrunner Records fucking blows...... bunch of greedy fuckin pigs. You Hatebreed fans that are thinking about picking their new album up...... DON'T!. You might wanna wait a year after they actually release it because if you know how roadrunner does stuff then you will wait and get the reissue of the album a year later.... you know... that way you don't get fucked buying 2 seperate cd's..... ROADRUNNER FUCKIN BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll pick up the album if its half as good as Satisfaction if the Death of Desire or Perseverance, but I'm not holding my breath. Wayne should've stuck with Terror IMO.
