FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH: First Song From Sophomore Album Available For Streaming - June 22, 2009
"Burn It Down", a brand new song from Los Angeles metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, can be streamed using the widget below (courtesy of MetalInsider.net). The track comes off the band's second studio album, "War Is The Answer", which is due to be released worldwide in late August.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory recently stated about the band's upcoming sophomore album, "The new record has been co-produced by Kevin Churko, who was heavily involved with OZZY's [OSBOURNE] 'Black Rain' album.

"In terms of the overall style, I would say that we've continued the journey we started on the first album, so there's a healthy balance of melody and aggression, and as always we concentrated on writing strong metal songs in the traditional sense. There's some epic moments on the record, and there's some straight-up home-wreckers, too. All I can say is, those who liked our first album are going to LOVE this one!"

Bathory told The Pulse of Radio that he wasn't worried about coming up with material for the band's second studio effort. "We have a lot to say," he said. "I tell you what, we're not going to be hurting for material for a long time probably. We have like three, four albums worth of stuff. So it's not gonna be an issue. It's pretty much just the mechanical part of like, you know, like properly recording the songs. You have to go to a good studio, you know what I mean, you have to spend some time. But all the material, yeah, we have a lot of stuff."

The band's next album will follow up its 2007 debut, "The Way Of The Fist", which has sold around 331,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The CD produced three singles, including "Stranger Than Fiction" and "Never Enough".

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was recently forced to cancel a series of June dates in Europe due a combination of events; these involve both personal matters plus the necessity to finish mixing the tracks for "War Is The Answer".

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH still played the Download festival on June 13 at Donington Park, United Kingdom. However, this was the only date the band could keep on this current run due to the above-mentioned conflicts.

The song just seems to kinda drag along...I'm not feeling it. Let's hope the other songs on this new CD are a bit better.

When I first heard this band, I thought they really had some promise...and perhaps they still do, but they sure as hell aren't showcasing it with this song.

The first album became extremely repetitive quickly and this song, even from the first listen sounds like it could have been a leftover from the first album.

Not a good sign.

Lyrics are weak. The song is good - does anyone think it could be a slipknot song? It sounds just like their riffage.

Hm... sounds a bit weak to me, there's hardly any chorus to find. Besides they totally copy a riff already used by none but themselves in "the way of the fist" at 1:20. But there it was just a bridge and now they try to create a whole song out of it without adding anything interesting. That's really POOR. Plus the drums sound pretty triggered, like electronic drums somehow...

I FUCKING LOVE THE BRUTALNESS OF THIS SONG IT HAS SO MUCH FEALING.

The only thing these guys are "fealing" is a bunch of cocks in their respective buttholes.

Darrell's gone, was the only noteworthy element to this parade of turds. Moody...hah. Give me a fucking break. I still can't believe I actually own the Motograter cd. What was I thinking?

Let me start with "congratulations to 5FDP for winning the Golden Gods award!" Good to see that American metal is getting love in the UK.

Second, I was hoping their new record will be as heavy as the first one and "Burn it Down" is a good sign, it f@ckin shreds. Can't wait to hear the rest!!!

and third, I didn't want to sound like a dumbass so I double checked it on the CD cover, DeathCleaver is right! Darell's name is not on any of the songs, so in that light Meshusik's comment is just stupid.

"FEALING." come on man doesnt help your cause if you can't spell basic words. The song is rehash and that is coming from a big fan of their last album. Does nothing for me and yes it does copy the riff from "Way Of The Fist" just played slightly different. Will still give the album a chance though.

As a Death Punch fan, I can honestly say it is not the best song they have ever written. "The Bleeding" easily gets that distinction.

However, it shows promise for the new record. Guitars sound beefy, the bass is present, and the drumming is solid. Vox are what you expect from Moody, which is better than 99% of what "vocalists" can offer these days.

Again, not their best, but, better than most of the B-side of "Way Of The Fist." I, for one, think this is a sign that the Sophomore Curse is passing 5FDP by.

Bring on the new album!

Darrell doesn't have a solo record true,But he also didn't play guitar for HILARY DUFF and MANDY MOORE like your "effin" hero Jason did!
