AC/DC Makes FORBES Magazine's 'Top-Earning Musicians' List - June 24, 2009
Anglo-Australian hard rockers AC/DC made Forbes magazine's list of Top-Earning Musicians list of the year, with MADONNA, CELINE DION and BEYONCÉ taking the top three spots.

Says Forbes: "The Aussie rock band fronted by aging schoolboy Angus Young tied for No. 5 on this year's list of top earners thanks to their seemingly relentless popularity. Their fall 2008 effort, 'Black Ice', was the band's first album in eight years. Sales of 'Ice' combined with international catalog sales made AC/DC the No. 1 catalog artist of 2008. As well, their domestic tour grossed $38 million in 2008."

Forbes Top Earning Musicians list:

01. MADONNA $110 million
02. CELINE DION $100 million
03. BEYONCE KNOWLES $87 million
04. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN $70 million
05. KENNY CHESNEY $65 million
06. (tie) COLDPLAY $60 million
06. (tie) RASCAL FLATTS $60 million
06. (tie) AC/DC $60 million
09. THE EAGLES $55 million
10. TOBY KEITH $52 million

I have never even heard of #s 3 and 6. And where the hell has Bon Jovi been or have I been under a rock. I haven't heard anything about that band in 15 years.

Saw AC/DC last night, phe-fucking-nominal, you know what you are going to get and what they will play but the way they execute it is what makes them brilliant.

Do I want to know who Eascal Flatts is?

Wow... Madonna makes more money than A-Rod! How does A-Rod feel about his girl being the bread winner in the family?

Props to Springsteen, AC/DC and The Eagles for continuing to hold it down for all these years and showing these punk kids how a real rock n roll show is done.

Imagine if AC/DC released their Black album earlier and started the tour in spring insteed of late october. The would have been top 3 atleast.
