DEICIDE: Australia/New Zealand Tour Canceled - June 26, 2009
DEICIDE's previously announced October 2009 tour of Australia and New Zealand has been canceled. Soundworks Touring and DEICIDE deeply apologize for any inconveniences and disappointment to fans.

Commented DEICIDE bassist/vocalist Glen Benton: "We are currently working on the new album and will be recording during the time frame of said tour... On behalf of the band and myself, we are sorry for any inconvenience and will reschedule the tour for another time frame as soon as we can."

Tickets can be returned to points of purchase for a full refund. Any further queries can be directed to Soundworks Touring at soundworkspromo@bigpond.com.

DEICIDE last year inked a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The band has been working on its new album at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CHIMAIRA).

In a recent interview with Express Night Out, DEICIDE bassist/vocalist Glen Benton stated about the status of the band's next CD, "The new record is already recorded; the only thing left is for me to go in and do vocals and my bass tracks. ... [Drummer and composer] Steve [Asheim] had all that [music] done within about six or seven months of the last record being turned in to Earache. He writes stuff quickly. It's a little bit different from what we've done. It's a little less melodic, a little more blast-beat, chaotic-sounding stuff. ... Until I sit down and start writing, to me it's just a bunch of noise until I start separating it with vocal lines and stuff. I have to listen to the stuff over and over and over to figure out how to put the vocal parts on it. ... When I write, I can't go anywhere or do anything. I just sit there in front of my laptop with my headphones on and just write."

DEICIDE's current touring lineup includes returning guitarist Ralph Santolla, who is also a member of OBITUARY. His lengthy resume also includes stints with ICED EARTH, DEATH and SEBASTIAN BACH.

Santolla was a member of DEICIDE between 2005 and 2007. He played on the 2006 album "The Stench of Redemption" and he made a guest appearance on last year's "Till Death Do Us Part".

"Till Death Do Us Part" sold 2,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

I agree with Brian above, Jackson was always such a big influence on Deicide. You can hear sections of Jackson "Beat It" in Deicide's "Satan Spawn the Caco Daemon". I am sure that Glen and Steve are cracking a beer to Jacko as i type this.....

exactly! why bother getting everything in order, only to cancel it right before its supposed to happen?! Everyone is doing this! WTF. Although Deicide has a bad track record for canceling shows, do the promoters realize they are making an album or busy?

Deicide has caught the Fear Factory virus. it is highly contagious and other bands should be vaccinated against the virus or be quarantined from Fear Factory.

Deicide and Fear Factory are both a joke anno 2009 compared to when they were big; and that was mid-90's. So here 15 years and 200 cancelled tours later, it couldn't make any difference.

Deicide have cancelled so many times the last 10 years, that everyone's stopped counting. They are a disgrace to their name and heritage in said period (mid-90's).

Tour canceled... in fine Deicide style.
Same story, different location.
What is it with these guys.

..but......
Maybe it turned out that Benton could actually do the dates and they got cold feet.
Agree with most statements here...this band have made a mockery of their name.
It's all well and good to be absolute knuckleheads if it can be backed up with decent music or at the very least...I dunno...punctuality:-)
New album to be called 'God Made Us Unreliable'??

Benton still has a fierce growl and all but that's really as far as it goes I reckon. The albums? This lot must think that inspiration is a kind of deodorant.
I would recommend anyone who is in two minds whether Deicide need one last chance or not should look at the DVD that came with 'Scars Of The Crucifix'. I thought it was some kinda Ali G style comedy....however, upon realising they were not taking the piss I shed a silent tear for the glory days :-)

Contact Guinness someone, let Deicide get credit for something. World records are important to some people. Most canceled tours has to be in that book somewhere.

Glen's voice is progressively getting worse and worse as the years go by. Just check out Vital Remain's Dechristinize and Icons of Evil albums. and also check out Deicide's last two albums. His vocals are totally unintelligible. Why even bother trying anymore Glen, it's obvious Deicide's best days are in the past. I just hope for his sake that he doesn't waste too much time coming up with useless vocal patterns which won't be understood anyway, plus silly evil lyrics.

Deicide have destroyed any reputation they had with admittedly half-assed releases (In Torment In Hell and Insineratehymn), and they have hardly showed up to any shows in the past five years. I have gone to five or six Deicide shows, and they only showed up once, plus they always cancel international tours. Jack Owen's association with white supremacist groups has only done more to deteriorate any respect for them.

There are some Deicide albums i dont care for, and some that i REALLY enjoy,.. but unlike my ferrel brethren i dont think this gives me the right to swear blue fucking murder at the musicians responsible for GIVING me the music.

You people forget that it isnt their JOB to provide YOU with music so YOU can bicker about how much they havnt catered to YOUR musical sensibilities,.. no wonder they cancel shows... would YOU want to turn up to a venue and have a bunch of angry munters lecture you on how you failed them??

These people owe you NOTHING, the fact that we live in an age where this kind of music is even available to you is a fortunate enough.

To those complaining about 'everything was better back in the day' FUCK YOU!!! the 'day' is happening right now but you're narrow mindedness will not concede the fact.

All this hate would be SO much better directed at Metallica,.. they at least DESERVE to be tormented, abused and mocked relentlessly.

Stench Of Redemption was/is/will ALWAYS be Outstanding!

Ok, you don't bash as much when they put out a killer record!! I don't normally do this...
A few years back, in the state of florida. GB fought for custody of his two son's, against his crazy ass ex! If any of you know how hard it is to win such a thing from a female, imagine how hard it is to win if your GB!?
Well, win he did! So as far as touring, it will never be the same for the band!! He has two son's to raise, and if ya'll don't understand that... GROW THE FUCK THE UP!!!
