Former DARKEST HOUR Guitarist Splits With MAGNA CARTA RECORDS - June 29, 2009
Former DARKEST HOUR and current GOD FORBID touring guitarist Kris Norris has issued the following update:

"I have officially split with Magna Carta Records for various reasons. I am currently in the process of writing solo CD #2 and am actively seeking recording vocalists (this being one of the reasons for the split). This record is going to be very different from anything I've done that anyone has heard. I'm going back to my music college days of writing very 'out there' and experimental ARCTURUS-styled circus music. So I am looking for someone who can do some crazy-ass clean vocals. You can email me at krisnorrisprod@gmail.com and I can send you some songs. I don't know if anyone is even going to put this out, so I'm just looking to make this a very fun project. The music is very classical, solemn, happy, advantgarde, metal, just a whole slew of stuff I've never been able to actually accomplish in the bands I've been in. Some pre-demo stuff is [available at this location] for those curious."

Norris recently posted behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions for his latest solo CD (under the THE KRIS NORRIS PROJEKT banner), "Icons of the Illogical", which was released on Magna Carta Records.

"Icons of the Illogical" is Kris Norris' first solo record and release since his departure from DARKEST HOUR in September 2008. Randy Blythe of LAMB OF GOD provides vocals on two tracks. Cory Smoot of GWAR recorded, co-produced and mixed the record at his studio Karma Productions in Virginia. A special-edition three-song EP featuring original artwork by Jeremy Bonaventura will be released on December 15, 2008 and available on iTunes and Amazon.

are really non professionals, they even threatened people
when one of their artists were to blame........

jesus, and they - like most prog companies seem to be deaf. They will not take anything less than the totally self indulgent super-virtuosos, even if their ideas stink.

I remember them turning down a promo, and that fine band later found a label, by saying they didn't hear a "thing".... well.... i dunno but it's been agas since i bought anything they've put out and ages since they actually put something out, so i guess that goes to show, that i m might not be completely irrational in thinking that their taste n logic when it comes to repertoire seems to be lacking!

go on, release some LT*, demo promo, out-take compilation in hopes of milking th poor DT fanboys out of their pocketmoney ! In a day and age, when i cannot stand the new DT album for barely a moment .... i guess...it goes to show of how the mighty have fallen !

Kris is currently touring with God Forbid since Dallas quit! Has anyone seen them w/ Kris...I've seen Darkest Hour once and was really impressed with Kris' playing!
