"I started writing the song 'Deadly Weapons' about a dysfunctional relationship I was in that was full of distrust, backstabbing, and cheating. I wanted to cover both sides of the relationship, so I thought it would make more sense if the different perspectives were represented by two different vocals," stated EYES SET TO KILL's Alexia Rodriguez. "We knew Craig from ESCAPE THE FATE would be perfect for this song. We've known him for while because we are all friends from the Arizona scene and used to play tons of shows together. Working with him was like magic and the song came out amazing. It was definitely my favorite night of the whole recording process for the [recently released sophomore album from EYES SET TO KILL] 'The World Outside'."

"The World Outside" sold 2,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. (Note: Internet/digital sales **ARE** included in the SoundScan totals.) The CD landed at position No. 9 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Written and recorded by the band in Los Angeles with producer Dave Aguilera (ex-OTEP, BLEED THE DREAM) and mixed by Thom Flowers (THE ATARIS), "The World Outside" showcases the band's evolution from their screamo beginnings into powerful songwriters that resonate raw emotion.

"There were things that I put into this record that I've never told anyone before, not even my sister or some of my best friends," said Rodriguez. "Writing was like therapy to me, because there are times when I feel so alone that I don't know how to express myself other than through music. This is who I am and what I do."

Lyrically, EYES SET TO KILL's "The World Outside" is like an unguarded look into the heart and mind of Rodriguez. It's here that the singer-songwriter shines brightest, offering listeners a front row seat to watch her battle the singer-songwriter's darkest demons. Confronting difficult subjects such as her own insecurities, the pain of lost love and dealing with the expectations from fans, Alexia channels it all into the album. The album's title track confronts her own insecurity of being thrust into the spotlight, while the chilling album closer, "Coming Home", is an open letter to her father who abandoned her at an early age.
