ACE FREHLEY: 'Anomaly' U.S. Release Date Announced - June 30, 2009
According to the Rocket Science music label services organization, which lists original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley as one of its clients, Frehley's new solo album, "Anomaly", will be released on September 15. The CD was produced and recorded in Westchester County, New York between 2007 and 2009 and was mixed in Los Angeles by Marti Frederiksen, who has previously worked with AEROSMITH and DEF LEPPARD, among many others.

"Anomaly" official track listing:

01. Foxy & Free
02. Outer Space
03. Pain In The Neck
04. Fox On The Run
05. Genghis Khan
06. Too Many Faces
07. Change The World
08. Space Bear
09. A Little Below The Angels
10. Sister
11. It's A Great Life
12. Fractured Quantum
13. The Return of Space Bear (Dedicated to Tom Snyder) (iTunes exclusive)

Check out the cover artwork below.

Video footage of Ace Frehley laying down a solo on one of his new tracks, "Pain In The Neck", in the recording studio can be viewed below. Ace says, "I've been tweaking the solo and this is pretty close to what you'll hear on the [upcoming Frehley solo] album."

In an early 2008 interview with Billboard, Frehley stated about the CD, "Basically, I'm trying to get back into the mindset I was in when I did my first solo record [1978's 'Ace Frehley']. That record seemed to have all the elements everybody liked — a real cool instrumental, a hit single, some real heavy rockers, a nice variety of different genres of music."

Among his favorite new tracks are "A Little Below The Angels", hard-rocking "Pain In The Neck" and an instrumental called "Fractured Quantum", which is a follow-up to his previous instrumentals "Fractured Mirror" and "Fractured Too". Another favorite is "groove song" titled "Genghis Khan", which he likens in tone to LED ZEPPELIN's "Kashmir".

Frehley last year spent time on the road fronting a band that featured second guitarist Derrek Hawkins, drummer Scot Coogan (ex-BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION) and bassist Anthony Esposito (ex-LYNCH MOB).

Is it coincidence that Ace just happens to be releasing this long awaited solo album the same month that KISS will be dropping their new one?

It's funny how everyone who has a negative comment about his playing or his album cover will never achieve the success or the respect that Ace has.

He's not the greatest player.... But he made it in the music business and has influenced millions ... Did you?

Nope, didn't think so.....

I really hope this one is a killer. I love Ace. But I agree with what some of you have already said – that album cover is the worst thing since I don't know when. Unfortunately, I'm not to excited about the song titles either.

...then September will be great indeed. BOTH albums around the same time? Make it so...

I hope the Ace cd is worth the wait. I like what I've heard. Don't care for the song titles that much though. (The Return of Space Bear?)

The new KISS cd will do fine, but I hope Ace sells too. I'll be doing my part in both cases.

Seeing PRIEST tonight in St. Louis!!

why are people that don't like the same music as you or take music as seriously as some people here called "sheep"? i bet most Kiss fans today started liking them in grade school because of the makeup and stage antics.

There is no way Ace will make more than he did touring with Kiss on the last 3 tours he did with them. He made well over $15 million. I doubt he will make $100 grand on this effort, tour and album sales combined. He should have stayed with Kiss and raked in the dough while recording his solo album. Maybe even sold his cds and opened for Kiss on tour and got some exposure. Ace left in 2001 to make time to record his solo album but he is the last original member that has yet to release one.

I'll be at the record store passing both the Kiss and Ace cds to get to the new Slayer cd.

you contradict yourself, you get mad at people for being "haters" yet then go on "hating" about KiSS. I mean, I agree with you in that case, but shut the F up. Put your opinion & stop worrying about others that don't have the same opinion as you, such as with CF....you're a hypocrite, you "hate" just as much...and if someone says "I don't like Ace's new cover" doesn't make them a Hater. Its a very 80's sort of cover....only YOU can Hate I guess....and yes, Scab KiSS is ridicules.

Maybe Kiss should get Ace to open for them. That would please the Kiss fans....

I cannot wait for this album and will be in line the first day.
Like another guy said, say what you want about Ace, but in my book he's the man. Head and shoulders above anyone else.
I have a feeling this album will absolutely crush anything Kiss does. (And yes, I'll probably buy that too .. but more out of curiosity than anything else).

I like the stuff Ace has done in the 80's with Frehley's comet. The 78 album was the best of the 4 individual albums. Lets see if mister F can still write some interesting stuff. As for Ace playing abilities. Yes he is sloppy, repetetive but this is exactly the appeal of Ace. From today's standards Ace is not very original but his style has been imitated so many times in the past. Maybe thats why it sound irrelevant now? Pretty much the same thing as happened with Angus Young. I'm not comparing Ace and Angus here but you've heard all those AC/DC wannabees i'm sure. Both old school guitar players, both widely copied.

Hope the album will be good.

All you haters are so freakin pathetic... KISS is a HUGE draw... they don't need you there ... they don't need you to buy the new album, they don't need your opinions... the fact is that they're STILL one of the biggest bands of ALL TIME... go play with yourself ... I'm sure no one else wants to...

What's wrong with the cover? I've definately seen way worse! It's very "Ace".

I don't know how this album will be recieved, but at least Ace is true to himself and his fans. I'm looking forward to hearing it! Ace is a true original and, even if he isn't the most technical or perfect guitarist, he has his own style and he's influenced many! You can't take anything away from him!

why is everyone so down on the album cover. i heard that ace designed it himself using computer graphics. let's not forget who designed the ki$$ logo! i think the graphics are cool - it's those glasses that make it look funny - take them out and it's a great design. but again, it's a cover, who cares? can't wait to hear what's inside! ace rocks!

Unfortunately for Ace, his cd will be greatly overshadowed by the KISS cd. The older KISS fans who want the Ace cd already know about it and when it's being released. The newer KISS fans, and public in general, are only going to know that KISS has a cd out (thanks to their superior promotion) and not know the relation.

As much as I'd like to see Ace succeed, doing things half-assed won't work. The industry is just too tough nowadays.

I hope the cd does well, that being said...no way in hell it outsells the new KISS cd.....come on people, it's just your hatred for KISS showing when you make statements like that. KISS will rake in millions on the new cd and tour, Ace hopefully makes thousands.
