SLIPKNOT, ANTHRAX Members To Present This Year's KERRANG! AWARDS - July 1, 2009
SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor and ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian will host this year's Kerrang! Awards, which will be held at a "top-secret" London, England location on August 3.

"It's going to be awesome presenting the Awards with my good friend Corey," says Scott Ian. "I've done it the past few years on my own and let me just say it gets a little lonely up there. I really can't wait."

"When I was asked to co-host the Kerrang! Awards my response was very simple: when and where?" adds Taylor. "Even though I don't stand a chance in hell of keeping up with the mighty Scott Ian, I plan to hold my own in the only way I know possible... through sheer determination and large amounts of coffee."

When asked if Taylor should wear his trademark SLIPKNOT mask onstage for the ceremony, Scott Ian replied: "I'd actually prefer it if he didn't because I find it a little disconcerting. Anyway, why should he get to hide away? Maybe I should be the one wearing a mask? See how he likes it!"

"Scott and I are going to have the time of our lives," Taylor insisted. "And maybe if I'm lucky, he'll dance with me later."

Just seen the shortlist for these awards. Its pathetic!! Aside from the usual contenders there is a crapload of what I can only describe as talentless gimps!

Reading the shortlist for the Best British Band Award nearly made me sick... No Motorhead, No Iron Maiden, No Onslaught, No Saxon, and this mag has the nerve to call itself a Metal mag!!
Its geared more for the fanboy emos than it is for metalheads and their shortlist proves it!

They should change the name to KERRAP!

Kerrang is a piece of shit magazine and tv channel. They did a countdown of the 100 greatest bands and the top 5 was:

5. metallica
4. 30 seconds to mars
3. kings of leon
2. green day
1. my chemical romance

Wtf man?! Was this countdown made by 15 year old girls who decided "lets put metallica in the top 5 just to please the metalheads"

Needless to say i dont buy kerrang any more. If it's gonna cater to the fucking emos i dont wanna be part of it.

COMMENT | Oh and if you want further proof that kerrang is gay...

weird. Keep finding myself agreeing with your posts dude

Karrang, DID used to be quite handy, being the only "weekly" in England

Raw

... now THERE was a magazine... (and ITV show!).... *looks into the middle distance... eye's well-up*... having to sit through episodes of "get stuffed", making sure you were home and awake, all for one hour's worth a dose of rock or metal a week on terrestrial UK TV... SHITTING your pants with excitement if you happened to see this "brand new video" to the title track from Obituary's new "the end complete" LP... those were the days... *tears!*
